Provincial government is making efforts to establish an Education City with an aim to provide affordable international standard education to the people of the province.

He said that the British Council is also to help out to liaison the education city at Swabi with 20 international universities so that need based and according to the contemporary requirements educational system could be available for the students of the region. Saudi Arabia, Japan and Korea has also shown interest in the project.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the University of Swabi and Home Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for research collaboration to promote peace.Prof Dr Noor Jehan, Vice-Chancellor, University of Swabi, and Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Department, Government of KP, signed the document. The faculty and administrative staff of the university and Home Department attended the ceremony. The parties wished to develop cooperation in human resource development and research for the sake of peace building in the area.It was agreed that the MoU between the two institutions would be a beneficial opportunity to increase collaboration in trainings, research and partnerships.
