🌱 Sindh Agriculture University to Host International Cotton Conference 2026 🌍

The Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam is all set to host a prestigious two-day international conference titled “Cotton Seed Production and Development: Issues and Solutions” from April 14–15, 2026.

Organized by the Department of Plant Breeding & Genetics with support from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, the conference will bring together leading scientists, policymakers, academicians, and private sector experts to address the ongoing “white gold” crisis and revive Pakistan’s cotton sector.

🎓 The opening ceremony will be led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal, along with guest of honor Dr. Mazharuddin Keerio, featuring the inauguration of a special exhibition hall and technical sessions on advanced seed technologies and climate-resilient cotton varieties.

🌐 Experts from China and Japan will participate physically, while global researchers will join virtually. National institutions including NIA, ARS, and AES will also play a key role.

📊 Day two will focus on key challenges such as low yield, shortage of pure seed, and climate change impacts on cotton, soil, and water resources. The closing ceremony will be attended by Dr. Mehboob Ali Siyal, with certificate distribution and outcome review.

This conference is expected to set a scientific roadmap for sustainable cotton production in Pakistan.
