University of Wah Statistics Department The department of Statistics offers BS (HONS) and MSc degree programs and many students have been conferred BS (HONS) and MSc degrees in Statistics.

This is a page of Statistics Department University of Wah, the purpose of this page is to connect the students of Statistics department together and to share their views . University of Wah is a private-sector higher education institution founded with the vision of achieving excellence in unbiased dissemination of quality education to all. Our graduates are employed in a wide range of job sectors

like education, research organizations, banks, hospitals (as Bio-Statisticians) and marketing firms, etc. The emphasis of the Department of Statistics in the University of Wah is the achievement of innovative and pragmatic solutions to the problems arising out of the real-world phenomena and to focus on the interdisciplinary research stimulated by these problems. The broad range of statistical interests of our faculty and students strengthens our ability to impart quality education. The major thrust of the research of our faculty is the development of statistical methodology motivated by issues that arise in fields of application.

Department of Statistics is offering a Workshop titled "Data Analysis Using STATA and R-Language" on 17th and 18th August, 2022.
The main objective of this workshop is to equip the participants with understanding of appropriate statistical methods, applications and with their respective analysis. Under this workshop the participants will be able to explore the ways to apply quantitative methodological techniques essential to address the real world queries, in relation to Descriptive Statistics, Correlation Statistics and Inferential Statistics.

Workshop Registration Fee:
PKR. 2000/- for UW candidates
PKR. 2500/- for Non-UW candidates.

Department of Statistics, as part of โ€œYoung Scientist Talkโ€, organized a Seminar titled โ€œRole of Statistics in Researchโ€ on 10 March, 2022, under the aegis of University of Wah Science Society (UWSS). Dr. Saba Riaz, Assistant Professor, SZABIST, Islamabad was the Guest Speaker. In her talk, she focused on the connection between Statistics and Research. She also discussed the validity of research results and uses of statistical packages for data analysis. More than 100 students, from different departments of UW, attended the Seminar.

Department of Statistics organized a webinar titled "Application of Statistics" on 16 September, 2021. Dr Muhammad Altaf, Assistant Professor, UET, Taxila was the guest speaker. The purpose of this webinar was to discuss application of Statistics in new fields like Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Data Science. More than 45 participants including students and faculty attended the webinar. The webinar ended with an interactive QA session.
