University of Wah The University is offering undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate Programs. The University of Wah was established in 2005.

Four years later, in July 2009, the Punjab Provincial Assembly passed the University of Wah Act, 2009. The University is offering 4-Year Bachelors and 2-Year Masters Programs in Basic, Social, Computer, Management and Engineering Sciences. The University has two constituent colleges, Mashal and Wah Engineering College. The Wah Engineering College is offering BSc Engineering Programs in the fields

of Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical and Mechatronics, side by side, the college has also been offering MS and PhD Degree Programs in the field of Electrical and Mechanical whereas, Mashal Degree College is offering BS (4-Year) Programs in selective areas (only for girls). The University Campus is located in the beautiful and pollution free environment of the Wah Cantonment. The city of Wah is situated in the North-West of Islamabad “The Capital of Pakistan”. Wah has a historical background and was always a favorite place of Mughal Rulers. They built several gardens, such as, the most famous Wah Garden. Taxila city is adjacent to city of Wah which is rich in ancient, mainly Buddhist archeological sites and Sikh sacred places. The city of Wah has around 98% literacy rate and is known as “Model City” for education. Since its establishment, the University registered progress unmatched by any other University in the country at the similar early phase, and it is now in the process of producing a community of scholars committed to making in roads into yet unchartered areas of knowledge both in the emerging and traditional disciplines for which numerous facilities of advanced levels are being provided at the campus. It is unprecedented that University has offered and maintained Under-graduate and Post-graduate Programs in Basic, Social, Computer, Management and Engineering Sciences, since its establishment. To facilitate the successful conduct of these Programs, considerable spadework has been done, including the establishment of laboratories for practical classes. The University, in spite of numerous constraints and limitations, has been able to engage highly qualified and experienced faculty. The University has adopted 4-Year (Honors) Degree Courses approved by the Higher Education Commission. The University Campus is located on the 'Quaid Avenue', Wah Cantt.

The Directorate of Media and Publications, University of Wah, in collaboration with Mashal Degree College, organized an informative podcast session on 21 May 2026 to provide guidance regarding the admission process at Mashal Degree College (MDC) and to highlight the significance and career prospects of Inter Tech programs offered under the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE).

The session aimed to create awareness among prospective students about academic opportunities available through Inter Tech education and its growing relevance in the modern job market. The discussion focused on the scope, professional pathways, and future potential of technical education in various fields.

The podcast was hosted by Ms. Sadia Rashid, senior lecturer, English Department, and Social Media Coordinator at MDC. The distinguished guests featured in the session included Ms. Najia Rashid, Head of Department, Pakistan Studies, and Chairperson, Admission Committee, MDC, and Ms. Rabia Hameed, Head of Department, Home Economics, MDC. The speakers shared valuable insights regarding the admission procedure, academic environment, and career-oriented nature of Inter Tech programs.

𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 & 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Placement Office-ORIC, University of Wah (UW), in collaboration with the Faculties of Engineering, Computer Science, Basic Sciences and Management Sciences, organized the Annual Open House & Job Fair 2026 on 19 May 2026. The event provided a vibrant platform for strengthening academia-industry collaboration by promoting student innovation, professional networking, and employment opportunities.

The event featured more than 90 Final Year Projects (FYPs) presented by graduating students from the Faculties of Computer Science and Engineering. The projects highlighted innovative solutions in smart technologies, sustainable design, process optimization, automation, and digital transformation. The project exhibition attracted the attention of industry experts, academic professionals, and recruiters, who appreciated the students’ technical competence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

In addition to the project exhibition, students from all faculties, including Basic Sciences, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Computer Science, actively participated in the Job Fair. More than 64 renowned organizations representing technology, manufacturing, consultancy, banking, education, and engineering sectors participated in the event. Prominent participating organizations included Wah Industries Limited, Startup Coworks, Wah Nobel (Pvt.) Limited, FNRCO Group, LINRCO Consultancy, Elegsoft, Gearoom, Thrive Marketing, Phitech Solutions, and Global Study Linkers (GSL). Representatives from these organizations interacted with students through recruitment drives, networking sessions, career guidance activities, and on-the-spot interviews, providing valuable information about emerging market trends and career opportunities.

Malik Sherafghan, Additional Secretary General, the Hattar Industrial Association, and CEO of Standard Ceramic Industries (Private) Limited, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. During his visit to the project exhibition, he greatly appreciated the innovative ideas and technical expertise demonstrated by the students. He commended the efforts of the University of Wah in promoting strong industry-academia linkages. He emphasized the importance of further enhancing collaborative partnerships to support industrial growth and workforce development in the country.

The event was also graced by distinguished Guests of Honor, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal (T.I.), Director, Campus, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus; Dr. Attique Raza, CEO, Positive Solutions; and Mr. Haji Muhammad Hussain, Chairman, Master Group of Industries.

In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, industry representatives, and participants. He acknowledged the valuable role of industry collaboration in preparing graduates for the evolving professional landscape and appreciated the dedication of students, faculty members, and the ORIC team for making the event a remarkable success. He further endorsed the university’s vision to foster innovation, research excellence, and practical learning opportunities that contribute to the professional growth and future success of students.

The event concluded with a shield and certificate distribution ceremony to recognize the contributions of participating organizations, sponsors, and outstanding student projects. University of Wah convened its 6th Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) Meeting on 19 May 2026, reiterating its strong commitment to continuous quality enhancement and academic excellence. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, and attended by the Registrar, Deans, Director ORIC (Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization), Director Academics, Advanced Studies and Research, Director Quality Assurance & Enhancement (QA&E), Director IT, and student representatives.

The session focused on a comprehensive review of institutional and academic performance against established benchmarks, program review standards, and defined learning outcomes. Participants thoroughly examined the progress achieved under the 2024-25 corrective action plans, approved key strategic follow-up measures, and recommended updates to the Institutional Quality Circle Committee to further strengthen governance and accountability mechanisms.

Significant updates were also shared regarding self-assessment reports, program accreditation status, ISO certification progress, and university ranking developments. These achievements show the University’s steady advancement in institutional performance and its ongoing commitment to fostering a strong culture of quality assurance across all academic and administrative domains.

The meeting concluded with a renewed affirmation of the University’s strategic dedication to continuous improvement, transparency, innovation, and excellence in higher education.

University of Wah congratulates Ms. Misbah Zafar, a 4th-semester student of the Department of Chemical Engineering, on securing a place among the top ten winners in the Entrepreneurial Female Youth Pitch Competition 2026 held during the Mega Showcase 2026 in Lahore on 19 May 2026.

The competition organized by the Women's Development Department under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Punjab aimed to promote women's entrepreneurship and innovation across the province. The competition awarded Ms. Misbah Zafar PKR 1 million in seed funding for her entrepreneurial initiative. Ms. Sadia Taimoor and Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan presented the grant.

Department of Psychology at University of Wah organized a one-day seminar titled “Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder: Challenges, Strengths, and Support” on 18 May 2026 in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Good Health & Wellbeing).

The seminar featured Ms. Mahala Anwar, affiliated with 7 Senses Child Development Center and YMIES, as the guest speaker. During the session, she delivered an informative and engaging talk on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), focusing on its characteristics, associated challenges, individual strengths, early identification, intervention strategies, and available support systems.

Ms. Mahala Anwar emphasized the significance of awareness, acceptance, inclusion, and community support in improving the quality of life for individuals with ASD and their families. She also highlighted the role of educational institutions, healthcare professionals, and society in creating an inclusive environment for neurodiverse individuals.

The seminar was attended by faculty members and students from the Department of Psychology, who actively participated in the interactive discussion session. The event provided valuable learning opportunities and enhanced participants’ understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the importance of fostering empathy and support within the community.
