CERES was present at the 6th edition of the Engineering Summit held February 11, at DEQ. Over the past years, this event has established itself as a key platform for strengthening the connection between students and the professional world. This year’s edition introduced a significant new feature: the first Employment Fair, adding a new dimension to the Summit and complementing the already well-established program of keynote talks and industry site visits. The Employment Fair provided a valuable opportunity for direct engagement with undergraduate students in Chemical Engineering and master’s students in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Plastics Engineering, and Sustainability. The event also welcomed students from other departments at FCTUC’s Pólo II, including Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, among others.

CERES Joins the 3rd Edition of the Circular Economy Pact for the Central Region
The circular economy is today a key priority on both national and international political agendas. In 2015, the European Commission adopted the first Circular Economy Action Plan, with the aim of ensuring sustainable growth within the European Union and accelerating Europe’s transition towards a more circular economic model.
Within this framework, the Circular Economy Pact for the Central Region stands out as a strategic initiative designed to encourage the adoption of practices that support a more circular and resource-efficient economy across the region.
CERES will play an active role in the 3rd edition of the Circular Economy Pact for the Central Region through the proposed action “Valorisation of renewable resources through circular economy strategies”. This action reinforces CERES’ commitment to sustainability, innovation, and the development of solutions that promote the efficient use of renewable resources, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable economic model.
Through its participation, CERES aims to support knowledge transfer, foster collaboration between stakeholders, and strengthen the implementation of circular economy principles in the Central Region.
