High Performance Football Coaching

International Post-Graduation by José Mourinho This professional master programme is structured in 8 modules. The post-graduation has a total of 60 ECTS.

Each module consists of an immersive procedure that is experienced in 4 consecutive and intensive days. Module contents are drilled progressively, from groundwork foundations to advanced professional competencies of football coaching. Wholehearted emphasis on clear-cut teaching-learning methodologies will allow students to engage in a transformational experience that will profoundly change their p

erspectives and uniquely set apart their career skills. Each of the Modules, from 1 to 8 will address different topics within a common structure. Each Module will be coordinated by José Mourinho and António Veloso.

Day 7 - SL Benfica Youth Technical Director started off the penultimate day of this edition, with the knowledgeable lecture called "New trends in High Performance Football". During the afternoon, the students shared their internship experiences.

Day 6 - The sixth day was fully led by STATSports Sports Scientist Roberto D'Onofrio Rondón, with the lecture entitled "Evidence-based football-specific training methodology advanced technology". The students also had the opportunity to test out the GPS Performance Tracker during a practical session.

Day 5 - The fifth day of this week covered the module called "Building your own career". The morning lecture was given by SIC commentator Pedro Fatela, PhD, with the theme "Communicating with media, analysis of experience managers". Moreover, the afternoon session covered the theme "Communicating with media role play", with the insightful input by Sports Psychologist and Assistant Professor at ISPA Pedro Almeida.

Day 4 - The morning session covered the theme "Building the foundations for an effective career- Development of communication skill", and the lecture was given by António Sacavém. The afternoon session was led by former U19 Head Coach of SL Benfica, Filipe Coelho, with the theme of "Coaching and Talent Development". Always a pleasure having you guys here!

Day 1 - To start the last two modules of this edition, Vitor Matos, Elite Development Coach of Liverpool FC, gave a very insightful lecture! To end the day, Pedro Pereira, First team goalkeeper coach of Al-Sadd Sports Club, provided his view on the life and routines of a goalkeeper coach. Thank you so much for your lectures, and we are looking forward to having you again!

Day 8 - To finish the fifth and sixth modules - A Trip to Benfica Campus! Lectures were given by Pedro Marques and Rodrigo Magalhães, in addition to having the opportunity to see a training session of the Under-16 team. We had an amazing day in the Training Center of SL Benfica. See you all in June!!

Day 6 seminars were inserted in the "Periodization & Training issues" module of this postgraduation. Both sessions featured Conall Murtagh, Head of Fitness of Liverpool FC, with an amazing lecture on " Physical Coaching and return to Training and Competition", with a practical session during the morning.

Day 5 was the continuation of the lectures given in day 2. João Tralhão started off the day, with a lecture entitled "Periodization and training issues". On the other hand, Filipe Celikkaya, Head Coach of the B Team of Sporting Clube de Portugal, and Miguel Barata were our afternoon session lecturers, giving a lecture entitled "Coaching the B Teams Game Model Integration", which was inserted in the "Scouting & Asset management" module.
