📢 CEsA - Centro de Estudos sobre África e Desenvolvimento is recruiting a research fellow for the project “Aesthetics of Extinction: Environmental Collapse and African Literatures in Portuguese”, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT).

The fellowship is open to holders of a Master’s degree and aims to support research activities related to the compilation of literary and theoretical-critical works, as well as the review and translation of academic and critical articles produced within the scope of the project.

🏆 On 16 June at 17:30, the Universidade de Lisboa/Caixa Geral de Depósitos 2026 Scientific Awards Ceremony will take place at the Pavilhão de Portugal Congress Centre.

In this edition, Professor Cristina Gaio, a professor at ISEG, will be awarded an Honourable Mention in the scientific field of Economics and Management, in recognition of the quality and impact of her scientific work.

The awards recognise scientific work of excellence and reinforce the University of Lisbon’s commitment to research and the production of knowledge that has an impact on society.

📚 The 96th Lisbon Book Fair begins today, and the Universidade de Lisboa is once again present at Parque Eduardo VII, showcasing the best of the University of Lisbon Press.

This is the seventh time the University has taken part, and the IUL stand brings together a special selection of titles, including publications from the National Museum of Natural History and Science and the Institute for Tropical Scientific Research.

Throughout the Fair, at stand G26, there will be book presentations, new releases and daily reading recommendations.

🏆 The 11th edition of Executiva magazine’s study recognised Portugal’s 50 most influential women and once again highlighted three ISEG professors.

Sandra Maximiano, Professor of Economics at ISEG and Chairwoman of ANACOM; Clara Raposo, Deputy Governor of Banco de Portugal and former President of ISEG; and Sara Falcão Casaca, a leading professor and researcher in the fields of gender studies and equality policies, were recognised for their impact and leadership in their respective fields.

The list also includes three ISEG alumni: Maria Luís Albuquerque, European Commissioner; Ana Figueiredo, CEO of MEO; and Ana Garcia Martins, author of ‘A Pipoca Mais Doce’.
