A few days ago, we welcomed Andres Ortolá, General Manager of Microsoft Portugal, to The Lisbon MBA Católica|Nova for a deep dive into the real journey of AI adoption 🚀

From infrastructure → to model creation → to real-world application, Andres unpacked what it truly takes to embed AI into organizations.

One key insight stood out: The countries leading in AI aren’t necessarily building the most advanced models, they’re the ones ensuring AI is actually used. Diffusion, not just innovation, is the real differentiator.

Drawing on the Microsoft AI Diffusion Report, the cohort explored how nations like the UAE, Singapore, and Norway are accelerating impact by focusing on adoption at scale.

Inside Microsoft, this is already happening, with teams creating AI-powered agents and rethinking workflows to drive efficiency and transformation.

Our students didn’t hold back, challenging perspectives on trust, innovation, and the future of work in an AI-driven world.

Thank you, Andres, for an insightful and forward-looking session.

🎉 A New Journey Begins!

We’re thrilled to welcome the Lisbon MBA International Class of 2026! 🌍✨

This year’s cohort is truly global: 79% international students, 17 nationalities and 57% women.

The day started with coffee and connection, followed by inspiring messages from Dean Filipe Santos and Executive Director Maria José Amich, who reminded us of our mission: shaping responsible, forward-thinking leaders for a changing world.

Students also heard from our Academic Directors about the exciting year ahead, including a one-month immersion at MIT Sloan, and concluded with a thought-provoking session by Prof. José Carlos Mateus on “The Evolution of Portugal: Past, Present and Beyond” and how to navigate uncertainty and instability in today’s geopolitical landscape.
