Dear colleagues and friends,
Sadly, this post is to announce the last session of the Permanent Seminar of Philosophy of Science organised by the Centre for Philosophy of Science of the University of Lisbon (CFCUL), on December 17 at 3pm Lisbon time.
Starting from the 1st of January 2025 CFCUL will cease its activities, due to a decision of its host institution, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, whose Direction has fully embraced a mercantile and myopic vision of university and science.
Through an administrative decision they put an end to twenty years of research and teaching of the only Centre for Philosophy of Science in Portugal, and all the efforts to convince them to change their mind were useless.
In this final session of the Permanent Seminar we'll outline the work developped at CFCUL over the years and point to its lasting legacy, questioning the reasons that lead to its dissolution.
We hope to see you there, in person or online.
