The Romanian-American University delegation met early this week in Edinburgh with Ms. Andreea Berechet, Consul General of Romania to Edinburgh.

The dialogue focused on developing cooperation in education, supporting student mobility and exchanges, as well as strengthening ties with the Romanian community in Scotland through future educational and academic initiatives.

The meeting complements RAU’s international agenda in Scotland, which continues these days with participation in EAIE 2026 Glasgow.

We thank the Consul General for the warm welcome, openness, and constructive dialogue!

🎓 International outreach and cultural exchange in academia

H.E. Alexander Valentín Rodríguez Salazar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Romania, spoke about the transformative power of education, highlighting how it has shaped his own professional and personal journey.

His Excellency shared that he did not set out to become a diplomat: his early studies were in social work, then psychology, before he eventually moved into a diplomatic career. He believes that education is what gives you the freedom to choose and to shape the path ahead — a process in which it is essential to know yourself, to confront your own ideas and knowledge, and to always remain open to new things.
He encourages young people to study hard, be willing to exchange ideas, and show respect toward others, because education is what will shape their future.

We look forward with great enthusiasm to developing new joint projects and are delighted to strengthen this bridge of academic collaboration alongside the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Romania!

Strengthening academic cooperation between Romania and Australia!

On September 4, Prof. Costel Negricea, PhD, habil., Rector of the Romanian-American University, welcomed H.E. Radu-Gabriel Safta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Australia.

The meeting focused on opportunities to develop educational cooperation between Romania and Australia and explored potential collaborations between the Romanian-American University and academic and research institutions in Australia.

If you are learning Japanese and want to evaluate your proficiency, you have the opportunity to take the JLPT exam at the Romanian-American University in Bucharest.

Sometimes, innovation starts with a simple question: “How could we do things better?”

At the High School Innovation Challenge, high school students are invited to turn real-world problems into ideas, ideas into solutions, and solutions into projects with startup potential.

Your field of study doesn’t matter, and no advanced programming experience is required. What matters is curiosity, creativity, the desire to learn, and the courage to try.

With the support of mentors and experts, teams will explore AI, technology, business, and innovation in a journey that can take their ideas much further.

Graduation Day, filled with smiles, emotions, warm embraces, and perhaps a single thought crossing everyone’s mind: "Where did the years go?" 🎓✨
For the Class of 2026 graduates from the School of Management-Marketing, the years spent at RAU meant far more than lectures, exams, and diplomas. They meant people who turned into lifelong friends, professors and mentors who inspired, fresh experiences, opportunities, and memories to cherish for years to come. For many of them, RAU felt like a family, a second home.

They learned that real impact in business is built through agile leadership, strategic thinking, and creativity, turning bold ideas into genuine value for brands and organizations. From an Idea to a Startup: What Happens at the High School Innovation Challenge? 💡

Over the course of 8 weeks, the teams participating in the High School Innovation Challenge will follow a complete innovation journey, from identifying a real-world problem to developing a solution and presenting it to a jury.

🔹 From Idea to Prototype – Teams will explore the market, gain a deeper understanding of users’ needs, and build their first MVP.

🔹 From Prototype to Startup – Participants will explore AI automation and agents, business strategy, and the process of turning an idea into a sustainable project.

🔹 From Project to Pitch – Teams will work alongside mentors, receive feedback, and prepare to present their ideas to experts.

The journey will culminate in the Grand Final on December 5 at Romanian-American University, where the finalist teams will present their projects.

🏆 €45,000 in study scholarships and over €20,000 in prizes, including cash and products.

You don’t need to have all the answers from the start. You just need the curiosity to begin. 🏹

For the Class of 2026 graduates of the Faculty of International Business, their years at URA have meant much more than lectures, exams, and diplomas. They have meant people who became friends, professors and mentors who inspired them, new experiences, opportunities, and memories that will stay with them for many years to come. For some of them, URA became like a family—a second home.
