Our department will be hosting a monthly Graduate Research Seminar, organised by the Chemistry Graduate Society (CGS). This event will be held on every last Wednesday of every month (5-6 pm). This seminar series will be a student/ postdoc only event (i.e. no academic staff) and the presenters will be chemistry graduate students/ research fellows who will be presenting their research to other students/ postdoc.

We believe the following objectives can be achieved through the organisation of such an event.
1. Provide a good platform for our students/staff to share their research and expertise with their peers
2. Open a wider window for our undergraduate and graduate students to better understand the cutting-edge research in our chemistry department
3. Build a collaborative research culture in chemistry department

For this month's seminar, we are pleased to announce the presenters, Mr. Peng Xinnan and Ms. Low Wen Yi. Mr. Peng will be presenting on "Quantum confinement in organic corrals' and is supervised by Prof. Lu Jiong. Meanwhile, Ms. Low's topic is "Understanding the molecular mechanism of the OmpC-Mla system" under the supervision of Prof. Chng Shu Sin. Please find their abstracts in the poster below.

ChemNUS Connects with PhD students, the first face-to-face event after a very long time, addressed the concerns and comments of graduate students in NUS Chemistry. This event was also streamed "live" so that students who could not be present physically could still join the event.

A wide range of concerns/feedback were brought up in areas such as academic life, student wellbeing, career opportunities and matters relating to COVID-19. CGS would like to follow-up with this town hall session to every post-graduate student. If you would like to submit an anonymous feedback to the department, you may do so by giving us a direct message!

CGS would like to thank our speakers, Prof. Richard Wong, Prof. Chng Shu Sin and Prof. Chua Lay-Lay for addressing the students' feedback. CGS also thank the students who participated in this event.🙂
