For people recovering from serious illnesses such as cancer, returning to work can bring a whole new set of challenges โ€“ some visible, some not.

In a CNA feature earlier this week, our Senior Lecturer, Dr Kim-Lim Tan, shared about supporting cancer survivors as they return to the workplace.

Beyond employment frameworks and workplace accommodations, Dr Tan highlighted the importance of empathy, psychological safety and honest conversations about what employees need during their recovery. He also discussed "work pacing" โ€“ giving employees realistic timelines and expectations as they gradually rebuild their capacity.

Weโ€™re glad to see our academics bringing their expertise into conversations that can help create more supportive and inclusive workplaces!
