On 16 May 2026, SIM Global Education was pleased to host the second Korea Educators’ Conference, bringing together 32 educators and counsellors from high schools across Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Busan, and Jeju for meaningful conversations on the future of global education and student readiness.

The conference focused on key topics shaping student decision-making in 2026, including:
- The growing importance of applied learning and career readiness
- How international exposure supports global competitiveness
- Singapore’s role as a practical and connected education hub for Asian students
- Evolving expectations from Korean students and parents

We were especially encouraged by the thoughtful discussions shared by educators on how institutions can better prepare students for an increasingly global and skills-driven workforce.

A sincere thank you to all speakers, alumni, educators, and partners who contributed their perspectives and made the event a meaningful exchange of ideas.

At SIM GE, we remain committed to supporting closer collaboration with the Korean education community and creating pathways that equip students with both academic foundations and practical industry relevance.

Myat Thinzar Lin (Stacy) was already a successful digital marketer with years of experience. But she knew that to lead strategically, she needed to upskill. So she pursued a Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics at SIM–University of London and it transformed her career.

From taking on an apprenticeship with SIM's Regional Marketing Team to creating top-performing content for the Myanmar market, she didn't just study marketing—she practiced it.

Today, Stacy is a Senior Brand Manager at Get & Start, leading integrated campaigns and e-commerce development, applying data-driven strategies learned at SIM directly in her role.

Her journey proves that it's never too late to elevate your career. You don't need to start from scratch. You just need to be willing to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

Having worked together as physiotherapists in a social service organisation, Dylan Koh and Emily Koh saw first-hand that some people with disabilities had limited access to opportunities to explore leisure and recreational physical activities. Determined to address this, they co-founded Physio4All, a social enterprise that aims to make physiotherapy more accessible in the community by integrating sports, social engagement, and evidence-based physiotherapy.

With no formal business training, the pair enrolled in the Dr Richard K M Eu – SIM Social Entrepreneurship Centre (RESSEC)’s Specialist Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship (SDSE).

Through SDSE, Dylan and Emily refined their business approach and went on to secure support from the raiSE EnergiSE grant programme, a grant designed to support social startups.

RESSEC is supported by the SIM Impact Fund, a $60 million, 10-year initiative to maximise learners’ potential and expand educational access and pathways. Through initiatives like SDSE, RESSEC seeks to develop the next generation of social entrepreneurs and changemakers.

Charlene Yew didn’t start university with a clear plan.

But by the time she graduated with a BSc (Hons) Business and Management from the University of London at SIM, she had already secured her role at UOB, fully equipped with the skills to enter the workforce.

From exploring different business disciplines to taking on part-time internships, leadership roles, and earning the SIM–LSE Summer School Scholarship, she made every opportunity count at SIM.

Her journey is a reminder that you don’t need a perfect plan. You just need to start, stay consistent, and take initiative.

As higher education continues to evolve, the strength of global partnerships is increasingly defined not by geography, but by how effectively institutions collaborate to deliver relevant, future-ready learning. Amid these shifts, Provost of SIM Global Education, Professor Jorg Bley, and Deputy Provost Professor Timothy Chan recently visited with key university partners in the United Kingdom - the University of London, the University of Stirling, Cardiff University, and the University of Birmingham.

These engagements focused on strengthening academic alignment, enhancing programme delivery, and exploring how partnerships can continue to evolve in response to changing learner needs and industry expectations.

This visit also marks 40 years of partnership with the University of London, a milestone that reflects the strength and longevity of our collaboration. As the world of work becomes more complex and interconnected, such partnerships remain central to delivering globally relevant programmes that strengthen employability, broaden perspectives, and equip learners to thrive and lead with impact.

When Marcela Lakhwani Nathani arrived in Singapore, she was navigating a new language, a new culture, and a change in her field of study.

By the time she reached her industry attachment, Bosch Mobility Aftermarket — one of the world's leading automotive technology companies — trusted her with work spanning digital content, market research, data analysis, and customer engagement across the ASEAN region.

Marcela is a SIM-University of London Computer Science student and a SIM STARRR Award recipient. The SIM STARRR Award, programme under the SIM Impact Fund, recognises students who show up with character, resilience, and the drive that employers are looking for.

🎉We did it! SIM Team Roulette has clinched the 1st place at the L’Oréal Singapore Brandstorm 2026 National Finals!

The L’Oreal Brandstorm 2026 competition is a global innovation challenge where young individuals aged 18-30 can showcase their creativity and technology skills to reimagine the future of luxury fragrance.

Team Roulette, comprising recent graduates Khine Su Wai (RMIT), Kenneth Chan (University of Stirling) and RMIT student Justin Tey, beat 7 other outstanding teams from NTU, NUS and ESSEC Business School, to take top spot in the Top 8 showdown on 7 May at L’Oreal HQ Singapore. And now, they will proudly represent Singapore at the Global Finals in Paris next month!

👏Huge shoutout to SIM Team Scentrinity, comprising University of London students Glenda Koh, Melody Tan and V Jayashri, for making it to the Top 8 Finals too — no small feat, and we’re so proud of you!

Special mention to RMIT lecturer Dr Kathleen Adams (School of Economics, Finance and Marketing) for her guidance and support to the team towards the final leg of the competition.

We are honoured to mark 40 years of partnership between the University of London and SIM Global Education (SIM GE), a collaboration that has grown in depth, scale, and impact over four decades.

What began in 1986 with 40 students enrolled in a single programme has evolved into a robust academic partnership offering more than 35 programmes, spanning from Foundation to Master’s levels. From its early roots in Management studies, supported by academics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the partnership has expanded across diverse disciplines, including Economics, Politics, and Data Science.

In commemorating this milestone, Professor Jorg Bley, Provost of SIM GE, presented a commemorative plaque to Professor Larry Kramer, President and Vice-Chancellor of LSE, on 29 April 2026, symbolising our shared journey and achievements.

Looking ahead, LSE will commit £40,000 over the next 4 years to support academic achievers at SIM. This enduring collaboration reflects our shared commitment to academic excellence and expanding access to quality education. We look forward to many more years of meaningful partnership ahead.
