New perspectives can open up new possibilities.

Over the course of their weeklong visit to NTU MSE, students of Tong Ji University spoke to students, attended a masterclass conducted by Prof Leonard Ng Wei Tat, and were able to get a firsthand look at the research facilities across the School.

Sessions by faculty members Dr Rui A. Gonçalves and Prof Shuzhou Li, as well as members of the MSE Graduate Students' Club offered a closer look at postgraduate life at NTU MSE. The students heard how international students adapt to a new academic environment, build connections and pursue opportunities for research and personal development.

With the insights gained from these sharing sessions, students said that they were pleasantly surprised by the spirit of collaboration shared between faculty and students, and that they were inspired by NTU's focus on research.

Several students reflected on the collaborative relationship between faculty and students, as well as NTU’s strong research culture. One was particularly struck by the multicultural environment at NTU MSE and the opportunity to hear students from different countries share their experiences and perspectives.

To the Tongji University students: we hope to see you again — not as visiting students, but as postgraduates ready to take on the problem statements of tomorrow!
