Our WorldSkills competitors representing Singapore at WorldSkills Shanghai from 22–27 Sep recently received a special send-off from Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment.

This year, 13 competitors will compete across 12 skill areas, making up more than a third of Team Singapore’s 34-member contingent! Special shoutout to Yi Jiaxin, who'll be competing in Software Testing, one of the newest skill areas at WorldSkills.👏

After months of training and preparation, with some even juggling university studies, they're ready to take on the world's best and shine on the global stage. 🌏✨

Throwback to our very own Inter-School Sports Games!

From Kin-Ball battles to the high-energy NYP Physical Challenge and,
of course, super fun games of Human Foosball, it was non-stop action,
laughs and unforgettable moments with the throughout the day. 🔥

We proudly swept 3 out of 5 Lee Hsien Loong Interactive Digital Media Smart Nation Awards. And that's not all... we also had the highest number of multiple-award recipients, with 4 students receiving 2 awards each! 🙌

🏆 took the top two spots at SMU Mind The GAAP 2026!

Our Diploma in Accountancy and Finance learners excelled at this two-day accounting immersion camp organised by SMU School of Accountancy’s Outreach Club. Beyond the case study, learners also took part in mini games, Amazing Race and station games!

The case study challenged learners to develop a growth strategy for EcoMove Pte Ltd, a Singapore e-mobility company facing stronger competition, stricter regulations and rising customer expectations.

Their winning strategy positioned EcoMove as an affordable last-mile mobility brand, focusing on better battery life, durability and after-sales service; introducing affordable e-bikes; expanding gradually into selected Southeast Asian markets through partnerships; and using a phased approach to minimise financial risk.

🏆 Huge shoutout to our Year 2 Diploma in Nursing student, Nicholas Koh, who was among the 7 Boys' Brigade members who won the prestigious President's Award! 🫡

Presented by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the 22nd President’s Award Presentation Ceremony, this award is the highest honour for Boys’ Brigade members in Singapore, recognising years of dedication, leadership and service to the community.

As a student leader of the 36th Singapore Company, Nicholas shared that one of his most memorable experiences was participating in the Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift programme, where he helped bring joy to others and give back to the community. ❤️

NYP and SBS Transit Ltd are joining hands through a new MOU to nurture future-ready talent by creating more industry-linked learning opportunities, strengthening workplace learning, sparking innovation and creating better experiences for commuters.

The collaboration will also strengthen workforce development across SBS Transit’s network of employees, partners and vendors through training, mentoring and continuous learning initiatives by National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning led by NYP (NACE).

will have opportunities to apply their skills to real industry challenges. Our School of Design & Media learners are developing digital design concepts and lightbox installations along the Boon Keng MRT station walkway. Meanwhile, our School of Business Management learners are exploring ways to make public transport more accessible
and inclusive through customer journey mapping.

The partnership will also provide learners with access to
scholarships, internships, work-study opportunities and co-developed programmes, helping them build industry experience, enhance their employability and contribute fresh ideas and perspectives.

👏 The MOU was signed by NYP and SBS Transit Ltd last week, marking another step forward in delivering meaningful industry partnerships that benefit both learners and industry.

On 1 August, NYP hosted the "Career Switch Series: Build Future-Ready Skills for a Sustainable, AI-Driven World" at the Lifelong Learning Institute, part of our Lifelong Learning Discovery Day, where we connect adult learners with upskilling pathways and career transition support to take their next step. The event was organised in partnership with Lifelong Learning SG and supported by Central Singapore Community Development Council - CDC.

It was a morning of real conversations about AI, sustainability, and what future-ready skills look like in today's job market. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Were you at the National Day Parade (NDP) last weekend, or catching it from home?

Imagine seeing your work projected on the giant screens at the National Stadium! 🤭 That's exactly what 30 final-year from School of Design & Media, NYP | SDM got to experience. For the past six months, they worked behind the scenes to create Chapter 2: Go Beyond, a 15-minute motion graphics showcase projected across 11 giant screens at NDP.

From designing beyond the usual 16:9 canvas to diving into motion design, projection mapping and real-world production workflows, this project pushed their creativity beyond the limits of a traditional screen and levelled up their skills on one of Singapore's biggest stages. ✨

We're proud to continue our annual collaboration with the The Official NDP Instagram creative team, giving our learners the incredible opportunity to be part of Singapore's national celebration. 🙌

From classroom to cockpit!

Huge congratulations to Chan Wei Feng from the Diploma in Aerospace Systems & Management (now known as the Diploma in Aerospace Engineering), and Kegan Yeo from the Diploma in Business Management on earning their Private Pilot License (PPL) Wings!

Their aviation journey began at NYP, where they were introduced to flight opportunities through our collaboration with the Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC). Through this partnership, can gain greater exposure to aviation, including internship attachments and hands-on learning experiences.

As part of SYFC's fully sponsored flight training programme, Wei Feng and Kegan are now qualified to fly small, single-engine, four-seated propeller aircraft for non-commercial purposes, taking their first steps towards their aviation dreams. ✈️
