Organized by the SIMAD Creative Studio, the event brought together emerging and established creatives to explore how innovation and technology are shaping impactful digital experiences. The session was officially opened by Mr. Ayub Jenyo, Director of Public Relations at SIMAD University, setting the tone for an evening of creativity, learning, and collaboration.

Under the global theme โ€œAI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future,โ€ the event brought together speakers and participants to explore how AI is influencing education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for girls in technology.

SIMAD University, through the SIMAD Institute for Global Health - SIGHt, participated in the ESCMID Global Congress 2026 held in Munich.

The University was represented by the Director of the Institute, Dr. Bashiru Garba, who presented research on antimicrobial resistance in fragile Somali health systems.

The study originated from a practical research methods exercise with our undergraduate medical students, transforming classroom learning into real-world evidence that highlights the challenges of delivering safe healthcare in crisis settings.

SIMAD University continues to invest in research, support emerging scientists, and strengthen international partnerships to advance its contribution to global health.
