Grai မိုက် ai comes from my experience of growing up between languages. Jinghpaw, Burmese, and English constantly overlap in how I think and speak. Rather than treating this as confusion or loss, I see it as a reflection of a hybrid, evolving identity among Kachin youth.

Drawing on Homi K. Bhabha’s concept of the “in-between” space, this work translates linguistic hybridity into a visual language through typography and photography.

The display audio features “Jinghpaw” by Ah Moon.

‘Reflex Grotesk’

Reflex Grotesk is a practice-based research typeface designed to appear neutral — while investigating the constructed nature of that neutrality.

It proposes that neutrality is not an inherent quality, but a conditioned reflex — a learned mode of seeing that gradually obscures its own construction. Its forms emerge at the level of perception, in the eye, prior to judgment.

The typeface performs what it questions. Rooted in a practice of communication design — drawn and redrawn, until the hands stopped questioning, until the movement became automatic, until making and following a reflex could no longer be told apart.

รีเฟล็กซ์ โกรเทสก์ คือการสำรวจผ่านการออกแบบตัวอักษรให้ดูเป็นกลาง ขณะเดียวกันก็ตั้งคำถามกับธรรมชาติของความเป็นกลางนั้น

งานนี้เปิดเผยว่าความเป็นกลางไม่ใช่คุณสมบัติที่มีอยู่จริง แต่คือรีเฟล็กซ์ที่ถูกฝึกมา ความเคยชินที่ฝังลึกจนไม่เหลือรอยให้เห็น รูปแบบของมันอยู่ในสายตาก่อนที่ความคิดจะตามทัน

ตัวอักษรนี้แสดงสิ่งที่มันตั้งคำถาม จากมุมมองของนักเรียนออกแบบนิเทศศิลป์ การวาดซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า จนมือหยุดตั้งคำถาม จนการเคลื่อนไหวกลายเป็นสิ่งอัตโนมัติ จนแยกไม่ออกว่านั่นคือการเลือก หรือการทำตามรีเฟล็กซ์

“I want to be transported to another world!” has become a defining phrase in recent fantasy anime within the isekai (other world) sub-genre, reflecting the popularity of extraordinarily gifted protagonists, whose often beyond plausibility. While these stories are comforting and entertaining, they also reveal a collective desire to escape the pressures, failures, and emotional fatigue of modern life.

I am not the Chosen One subverts this familiar isekai trope. Instead of gaining a better identity, the protagonist enters a magical world unchanged, still ordinary and flawed. This project refigures isekai narratives, exploring how escapism shapes self-perception and personal growth. By challenging tropes that prioritize easy affirmation over meaningful development, it questions the distorted realities often presented in escapist media. Aimed at teens and young adults within otaku culture, the work encourages self-acceptance while offering a more grounded, motivating perspective on growth beyond fantasy.

“ฉันอยากไปต่างโลก!” ได้กลายเป็นวลีที่โดดเด่นในอนิเมะแนวแฟนตาซียุคปัจจุบันประเภท อิเซไค (ต่างโลก) ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความนิยมของตัวเอกที่มีพรสวรรค์เหนือจริง เก่งกาจเกินความเป็นไปได้ แม้เรื่องราวเหล่านี้จะมอบความเพลิดเพลินและความสบายใจ แต่ก็เผยให้เห็นถึงความปรารถนาร่วมกันในการหลีกหนีจากความกดดัน ความล้มเหลว และความเหนื่อยล้าทางอารมณ์ของชีวิตสมัยใหม่

‘Outdoor office’

This project is called Outdoor Offices, as it focuses on how people who work outside buildings adapt everyday objects. The way they handle limited space and tools is particularly interesting to me, so I created this photobook. The stories unfold through my photographs, focusing on objects commonly found and used on the streets of Bangkok. It reflects the uniqueness of everyday objects in urban areas while revealing the daily pressure of limited means and maximum function. By looking closely at the overlooked, Outdoor Office asks what we might learn from those who design without calling it design.

Unopened, Unspoken

This installation reflects on unspoken communication within parent–child relationships. It focuses on the tension between what is felt and what is expressed, particularly in environments where emotional openness is limited. The project stems from a personal observation of how certain thoughts are often held back, not because they lack importance, but because they are difficult to express to those closest to us.

Using folded paper structures, the work requires physical interaction to reveal concealed messages, mirroring the effort involved in expressing these thoughts. Paper is used for its familiarity and fragility, allowing actions such as folding, holding, and revealing to parallel the ways emotions are contained and gradually exposed.

Viewers are invited to write and contribute their own responses as part of the installation.
ผลงานชิ้นนี้พูดถึงปัญหาการสื่อสารในความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างพ่อแม่กับลูก โดยเฉพาะในสภาพแวดล้อมที่การเปิดเผยความรู้สึกนั้นถูกจำกัด อารมณ์และความรู้สึกที่มีอยู่ภายในจึงไม่ค่อยได้ถูกแสดงออกมา ในหลายครั้ง สิ่งเหล่านั้นที่ถูกกักเก็บไว้ ไม่ใช่เพราะมันไม่สำคัญ แต่เป็นเพราะมันยากที่จะพูดกับคนที่ใกล้ตัวที่สุด

โครงสร้างกระดาษถูกพับและออกแบบให้มีปฏิสัมพันธ์ เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ชมค่อย ๆ เผยสิ่งที่ถูกซ่อนอยู่ผ่านการเปิดชิ้นงาน ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความพยายามในการสื่อสารความรู้สึกเหล่านี้ กระดาษถูกเลือกใช้จากความคุ้นเคยและความเปราะบางของมัน การพับ การเก็บ และการเปิดเผย จึงเปรียบเสมือนวิธีที่ความรู้สึกถูกเก็บไว้และค่อย ๆ ถูกเปิดออก

An imaginary view on consumerism culture with logographic typefaces, constructed through the lens of dematerialization.

Humankind is the only species to ever walk the planet and dominate it with intellect. And as they are busy filling their lives with meaning against the void of an empty universe and the fear of death, sitting with themselves is such a chronic struggle that buying more, to make them “something,” sounds like the perfect entertainment.

But the joy from buying is short-lived.

Inspired by the ancient manuscripts written on the Rosetta Stone (the stone that played a key role in helping scholars decode the hieroglyphs and later understand ancient Egypt), this project explores an imaginary narrative of what would happen if humans kept on satisfying their desire for social status, disguised as “happiness,” through constant purchases, and that got written into history.

By constructing a typographic system of language to drive that narrative, this work, as an artifact, captures a “slice” of a civilization where the practice of consumerism is so common, so much so that they have a unique language for it.

Whatever ways you understand this narrative are all yours.

‘Fatal Flavor’

This project is a stealth-survival game centered on the “vulnerable protagonist” trope. The narrative follows a child who inadvertently discovers a cult’s secret, triggering a high-stakes pursuit through an abandoned mall after his primary escape route is destroyed.

The gameplay focuses on stealth mechanics and environmental interaction, requiring players to use camouflage and distractions to evade hostiles. By utilizing a frightening mood and tone with an eerie atmosphere permeating the now-abandoned shopping mall, the project aims to simulate the psychological pressure and helplessness of a child in a life-threatening situation. The ultimate objective is to navigate the hostile environment and return home safely.
โปรเจกต์นี้เป็นเกมแนวเอาชีวิตรอดแบบลอบเร้น (stealth-survival) ที่เน้นแนวคิด “ตัวเอกที่อ่อนแอและไร้ทางสู้” โดยเนื้อเรื่องจะติดตามชีวิตของเด็กคนหนึ่งที่บังเอิญไปค้นพบความลับของลัทธิแห่งหนึ่งเข้าโดยไม่ตั้งใจ ทำให้เขาต้องหลบหนีจากการไล่ล่าที่เดิมพันด้วยชีวิตภายในห้างสรรพสินค้าที่ถูกทิ้งร้าง หลังจากเส้นทางหลบหนีหลักของเขาถูกทำลายลง

รูปแบบการเล่นจะเน้นไปที่ระบบการลอบเร้นและการปฏิสัมพันธ์กับสภาพแวดล้อม ซึ่งผู้เล่นจะต้องใช้การพรางตัวและสิ่งของเพื่อดึงดูดความสนใจในการหลบหนีจากศัตรู โปรเจกต์นี้ตั้งเป้าที่จะจำลองความกดดันทางจิตวิทยาและความรู้สึกไร้ที่พึ่งของเด็กในสถานการณ์ที่อันตรายถึงชีวิต โดยสร้างบรรยากาศที่น่ากลัวและชวนขนลุกให้แผ่ซ่านไปทั่วห้างสรรพสินค้าที่ถูกทิ้งร้างแห่งนี้ โดยมีเป้าหมายสูงสุดคือการฝ่าฟันสภาพแวดล้อมที่เต็มไปด้วยอันตรายและกลับบ้านได้อย่างปลอดภัย

By focused on difference culture between Esan and Bangkok. This project allow people to get the experiences of bundao esan culture through this project.

‘Verify You Are Human’

In an era where images can be generated in milliseconds by artificial intelligence—where calculated perfection has become the norm—the value of human photography is once again being questioned.

Verify You Are Human is a photobook that affirms the irreplaceable value of human-made images through their original intention: to preserve memory. These photographs do not strive for perfection; instead, they emerge from ways of seeing, small acts of intention, and genuine human connection—preserving moments that technology simply cannot replicate.

This body of work stands as a declaration of the value of every photograph. Each image carries the trace of a lived moment—seen, felt, and responded to in real life—holding a depth of experience that no technology, no matter how advanced, can ever truly reproduce.

ในยุคที่ภาพถ่ายสามารถถูกสร้างขึ้นได้ภายในไม่กี่วินาทีด้วยปัญญาประดิษฐ์ เมื่อความสมบูรณ์แบบที่ถูกคำนวณอย่างแม่นยำกลายเป็นเรื่องปกติ คุณค่าของภาพถ่ายจากมนุษย์จึงถูกนำกลับมาตั้งคำถามอีกครั้ง

Verify You Are Human คือหนังสือภาพที่ยืนยันถึงคุณค่าที่ไม่อาจทดแทนได้ของภาพถ่ายจากฝีมือมนุษย์ ผ่านเจตนารมณ์ดั้งเดิมของมัน—การเก็บรักษาความทรงจำ ภาพเหล่านี้ไม่ได้มุ่งแสวงหาความสมบูรณ์แบบ หากแต่เกิดขึ้นจากวิธีการมองเห็น การกระทำเล็กๆ ที่เปี่ยมด้วยความตั้งใจ และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษย์อย่างแท้จริง—บันทึกช่วงเวลาที่เทคโนโลยีไม่อาจเลียนแบบได้

‘Have You Eaten? and Other Questions We Forget to Ask’

“Have you eaten?” is a question of courtesy, a cultural expression — an act of love.Yet it carries a weight we rarely acknowledge.

While eating is a universal experience, we increasingly take it for granted. In a generation where screens become companions and meals become fast and convenient, we are losing more than just recipes; we are losing the histories and the intimacy of time spent truly knowing those we sit with.

This work is constructed through three layers. The frame, an artwork in itself, houses a book of illustrations, poetry, and photography documenting the communal act of salu-salo (gathering). Interspersed throughout are handwritten recipes, doodles, and narratives, capturing the “human touch” of collective memory. Finally, a deck of cards prompts the questions designed to help us stay connected to our food and our companions.

The dining table is a universal archive. It preserves not just the meal, but the stories of every person who sits there.

“Have you eaten?” คือคำถามตามมารยาท เป็นการแสดงออกทางวัฒนธรรม และเป็นการแสดงความรัก... ทว่ามันกลับแบกรับน้ำหนักบางอย่างที่เรามักจะมองข้ามไป

ในขณะทีการรับประทานอาหารจะเป็นประสบการณ์ทัวไปของคนบนโลก แต่เรากลับเริ่มมองเห็นคุณค่าของมันน้อยลงทุกที ในยุคสมัยที่หน้าจอกลายมาเป็นเพื่อนร่วมโต๊ะ และอาหารกลายเป็นเพียงความรวดเร็วและสะดวกสบาย เราไม่ได้กำลังสูญเสียแค่สูตรอาหารเท่านั้น แต่เรากำลังสูญเสียประวัติศาสตร์และความใกล้ชิดในช่วงเวลาแห่งการทำความรู้จักตัวตนของผู้คนที่นั่งอยู่ตรงหน้าเราอย่างแท้จริง

ผลงานชิ้นนี้ถูกสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นผ่าน 3 องค์ประกอบ: กรอบภาพ ซึ่งเป็นงานศิลปะหลักในตัวของงานเอง ภายในบรรจุเล่มบันทึกที่รวบรวมภาพวาด บทกวี และภาพถ่ายที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวของการรวมตัวกันเพื่อรับประทานอาหาร (Salu-salo) และส่งท้ายด้วย ชุดไพ่คำถาม ที่ถูกออกแบบมาเพื่อช่วยให้เราเชื่อมต่อกับอาหารและผู้ร่วมบทสนทนาได้ลึกซึ้งยิ่งขึ้น

โต๊ะอาหารเป็นคลังข้อมูล มันไม่ได้เก็บรักษาไว้เพียงแค่อาหารมื้อหนึ่งเท่านั้น แต่ยังโอบอุ้มเรื่องราวของทุกคนที่เคยร่วมนั่ง ณ ที่แห่งนั้น
