One of the many important responsibilities undertaken by Associate Professor Dr. Prakorn Siriprakob, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, during his visit to Australia is to personally ensure that our PGS students are thriving academically, professionally, and personally.

This reflects a form of leadership that goes far beyond administrative duty, one rooted in genuine care, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the success and well-being of students across borders.

At the end of the day, one of the most meaningful aspirations of all those behind the Politics and Global Studies (PGS) Program is to see our students grow into individuals capable of serving society and contributing to the wider world with distinction. Few outcomes are more rewarding than witnessing our graduates achieve such important milestones.

The PGS Program warmly congratulates Patt Vana-Ukrit and Wirin Khowrat (in alphabetical order) on their selection as diplomats at Thailand’s highly respected Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We are immensely proud of both of you and sincerely wish you every success as you embark upon this important and honorable journey of public service.

All the very best from all of us at PGS.

Last night’s farewell for PGS Batch #3 was a quiet reminder that a “cohort” is never defined by time alone, but by the character of the people within it.

You will remain in my memory, not only as a group that was consistently studious and disciplined, but as one marked by a genuine sense of voluntarism. What stood out was not obligation, but initiative; not formality, but sincerity. You gave your time and energy because you cared, and that made all the difference.

Throughout your journey, you did more than simply study. You helped shape a community, one grounded in responsibility, mutual support, and a shared commitment to something larger than yourselves.

As you now step into a more complex and demanding world, I have every confidence that what you have cultivated here will endure. If you carry forward your discipline, your intellectual seriousness, and your spirit of service, you will not only succeed, you will give meaning to that success.

Thank you for the memories, and for all that you have contributed to PGS.

PGS Batch #3 will not fade into the past. You will remain, permanently, as part of mine.

Go forward with confidence, and with the same quiet strength that has defined you.

The Politics and Global Studies (PGS) Program, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Napat Ngampatipatpong, who will soon graduate from PGS, on his remarkable achievement of being offered admission to the MSc in Education at University of Oxford for the academic year 2026.

Throughout his time at PGS, Napat has distinguished himself not only through his academic dedication, but also through his exceptional leadership as the President of the PGS Student Council. His tenure has been marked by a rare combination of vision, responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to public service, fostering a strong and supportive community within the program. Under his leadership, the Student Council has flourished, becoming more dynamic, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of fellow students. Beyond his formal role, he has also consistently extended his support to the PGS Office, offering his time and effort in ways that reflect both initiative and a genuine sense of responsibility toward the program.

What has always set Napat apart is his clarity of purpose. From the outset, he has aspired to pursue advanced studies in education. At the same time, he understood the importance of first developing a broad and nuanced understanding of the world. Choosing PGS was therefore a deliberate and thoughtful decision, as the program provided him with the intellectual space to explore global issues, refine his analytical skills, and cultivate his emerging interests. In doing so, PGS has played an important role in allowing him to excel in his would-be area of expertise, laying a strong foundation for his future in the field of education.

His journey reflects resilience in the face of challenges, as well as a steadfast determination to pursue his aspirations with integrity and purpose. He embodies the ideals of global citizenship, engaging thoughtfully with the world beyond borders and demonstrating a deep awareness of the responsibilities that come with it.
His acceptance to Oxford is therefore not only a personal milestone, but also a testament to his perseverance, intellectual maturity, and enduring commitment to his chosen path.

Napat’s journey reflects the very spirit of PGS, intellectually curious, socially engaged, and globally minded. We are immensely proud of his achievements and have every confidence that he will continue to excel and inspire others in the years to come.

Congratulations once again, Napat. The entire PGS community celebrates this wonderful accomplishment with you.

The students themselves took the thoughtful initiative to organize a Rod Nam Dam Hua (Traditional Thai Water-Pouring Ceremony of Respect), a cherished Thai custom, often observed during the Songkran festival. In this meaningful ritual, younger participants gently pour scented water over the hands of elders as a gesture of respect and to seek their blessings.

Their kindness and spirit made the occasion especially touching. After the ceremony, we shared a delightful dinner together, filled with warm conversations, laughter, and a true sense of community.

My sincere thanks go to our students, the Dean, and all faculty members. It is because of each of you that PGS is not merely a program, but truly a place we can call home.

During his time at PGS, I had the opportunity to observe his academic journey closely. These qualities, combined with his strong academic foundation, will undoubtedly serve him well in the next chapter of his journey.

Yesterday I felt deeply proud of our Politics and Global Studies (PGS) students from the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University.

At the CICA Alley Tree Planting Event, our students volunteered wholeheartedly to support an international initiative that brings together diplomacy, sustainability, and multilateral cooperation in Asia. What I witnessed was not merely student participation in an event, but young global citizens learning diplomacy through practice, service, and responsibility.

PGS students are not trained only inside classrooms. They learn by engaging with real international actors, global institutions, and public leadership. They stand confidently alongside diplomats, scholars, and policymakers because we believe education must prepare them for the world, they will soon help shape.

My sincere gratitude goes to Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, for his visionary leadership in promoting international engagement and sustainability, and to Associate Professor Dr. Prakorn Siriprakob, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, for continuously supporting opportunities that allow our students to grow beyond academic boundaries.

The future of global leadership starts with students who are willing to step forward and today, our PGS students did exactly that.
