MDKKU Partners with Heyou International Hospital Group to Elevate Medical Services and Cancer Treatment through International Collaboration

On April 20, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), welcomed a delegation from Heyou International Hospital Group (People’s Republic of China), led by Prof. Dr. Jiade J. Lu, Executive Vice President and specialist in Radiation Oncology. The delegation included Ms. Lili Tang and Ms. Zhong Ling, accompanied by executives from the College of Graduate Study in Management, KKU, led by Dr. Sakchai Jarernsiripornkul, Dean, and Dr. Chuanchen Bi, Assistant Dean, along with Ms. Nakarin Wichakot and Ms. Yuwathida Boonmak. International Student Presents Liver Fluke Research at Khon Kaen University

Anna Gabriela Howes, a master’s student in Biomedical Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands, recently presented her research findings at the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU).

Her research entitled “Identification and Characterization of Carbohydrate Ligands of the Opisthorchis viverrini Mucinase Enzymes” focuses on in-depth biomedical study in the field of Infectious Diseases, conducted under the supervision of Associate Professor Sutas Suttiprapa.

MDKKU Expands Thailand–Kazakhstan Collaboration to Advance Oncology and Medical Innovation on the Global Stage

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), is advancing its international collaboration efforts by participating in a joint initiative on oncology and innovative medicine between Thailand and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The program was held from April 5–9, 2026, in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, following an invitation from the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana.

This participation was fully funded by the organizing body, reflecting strong confidence in Thai medical expertise and the prominent role of MDKKU, in the international academic stage.

Representing the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Dr. Thanachai Sanlung, a specialist in medical oncology from the Department of Medicine, participated in the international meeting and delivered a lecture to doctors and medical staff entitled “Cancer Care and Training in Remote Areas: Challenges Beyond Borders.” His presentation highlighted the ongoing challenges in delivering cancer care in remote settings, a critical issue that continues to impact healthcare systems worldwide.

泰国孔敬大学医学院扩展与哈萨克斯坦合作，将肿瘤学与医疗创新推向国际舞台

孔敬大学医学院持续推进国际合作，应泰国驻阿斯塔纳大使馆邀请，参加泰王国与哈萨克斯坦共和国在肿瘤学与创新医学领域开展的合作项目。该活动于2026年4月5日至2026年4月9日在哈萨克斯坦共和国首都阿斯塔纳举行。

本次活动的全部经费由主办方提供支持，体现了国际社会对泰国医疗人才实力的高度认可，同时也彰显了孔敬大学医学院在国际学术舞台上的重要作用。孔敬大学医学院派出代表——肿瘤内科医师Thanachai Saenlang博士参会，并发表题为 “Cancer Care and Training in Remote Areas: Challenges Beyond Borders”（偏远地区的癌症诊疗与培训：跨越国界的挑战）的学术报告。报告重点探讨了偏远地区癌症患者诊疗与医疗培训所面临的挑战，这一问题也是全球公共卫生体系共同关注的重要议题。

Next-Level Care at KKU: “i-Move” Smart Stretcher Drives Smart Hospital Vision

The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) bolstersits regional medical excellence by launching “i-Move”, an intelligent patient transport management application. This innovation integrates digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhancepatient care efficiency, aligning with the MDKKU’s goal of becoming a world-class medical school (Go International).

Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, revealed that the heart of driving MDKKU towardbecome a Smart Hospital is fast, safe, and effective treatment. The i-Move system transforms manual workflows into fully digital processes. A collaboration between the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering this practical tool optimizes seamless coordination between nursing teams and patient transport staff, reduces errors, and elevates healthcare standards to an international level.
