Team 'Can We Get Partial Credit?' came out on top at the NSU Honors Program's Quiz Bowl held at the Black Box Theater last night. Team members - all from the School of Business - include (from left to right) Lisa Anderson, Senior Secretary; Candi Olson, Accounting Instructor; Dan Shannahan, Associate Professor of Management; and Josh VanLaecken, Assistant Professor of Accounting. Five student teams and four faculty/staff teams competed in this annual event. We'll be brushing up on our trivia in the next year to come back and defend the trophies in 2027!

Big news for Northern State University!

Northern has been awarded nearly $3 million in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Education's Strengthening Institutions Program.

This five-year investment will help expand academic advising, experiential learning, mentoring and career development opportunities, strengthening student success from enrollment through graduation and beyond.

Yesterday was a fantastic weather day for a cookout. And it's always a great day when we get to hang out with our students and amazing business partners like Agtegra. You should have seen the fancy spatula skills on those burgers. 🙌💯 We could not have done this without the folks from Agtegra. They handled everything like champs and we are very appreciative!
Thanks to Cash-Wa Direct Aberdeen, South Dakota for helping us out with the food and Northern State University Foundation and Alumni Association for the use of the grill. Five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommend!

This past week's trifecta of faculty accomplishments and recognitions is complete with Dr. Henderson's published research. We are so grateful she is part of the School of Business team!

How can leaders help organizational knowledge and learning endure over time? Dr. Amber Henderson, associate professor of management at Northern State University, explores that question in new research published in the Journal of Strategic Innovation and Sustainability.

Her research offers a framework for how leaders can shape organizational systems to support learning, innovation and adaptation.

Northern State University’s Dr. Hannah Walters has been named a 2026 Marketing Management Association Fellow, recognizing her sustained leadership, service and contributions to the organization.

One of just two individuals selected this year, Walters continues to bring her professional experiences and expertise back to the classroom, benefiting Northern’s marketing students.

Wow...incredible accolades for our own Dr. Momeni! 😎🥳

Northern’s Dr. Eman Momeni, associate professor of accounting, and co-author Mahmood Behnampour of the University of New Mexico received the 2026 KPMG Teaching Innovation Award from the American Accounting Association’s Forensic Accounting Section.

Their research explores how educators can better prepare accounting students to recognize, investigate and prevent financial fraud — with a focus on practical, hands-on learning.
