“To try is to dream! I would be lying if I told you a specific goal I had in mind for where I will be in 10 years. I got to where I am today because of the relationships I and others have built, and I plan to put the people who have helped me before I help myself. So my dream is to live and serve in a community that loves to serve others. I guess dreams do come true! I am inspired by acts of unprecedented kindness and humility. I have been inspired by the actions and words of Dr. John M. Perkins (Civil Rights activist), the NSU faculty that helped shaped the way I think, and my father. I wouldn’t be who or where I am today if it were not for the generous example all of these people have offered. Being a Northern State alumnus has helped me succeed by teaching me every obstacle is merely a springboard for success, and the true value of education exists in the person it makes you, not the paycheck it wins you.
