Grad Highlight: Jenna Keeley | Computer Science, Software Engineering

Jenna is taking an exciting next step as she is heading to SMU Dedman School of Law this fall. Her standout memory from COBA captures exactly the kind of experience that likely shaped that path: serving as a Philanthropy Lab Fellow, where she and her classmates worked together to allocate $80,000 to local nonprofits and witnessed the impact of their decisions firsthand.

Her advice to freshmen is thoughtful and direct: "Learn to embrace discomfort. The moments that stretch you academically, socially, and personally are the most transformative."

Congratulations, Jenna! May God bless you and keep you.

Grad Highlight: Andi Moyer | Digital Entertainment Technology

Andi is stepping into the next chapter with her eyes wide open as she is searching for internships and the right mentor to help shape her path forward. Her favorite part of her time at ACU? Tutoring freshman classes and helping new students find their footing and discover their niche.

When it comes to advice, Andi doesn't hold back. "Just say yes! You can make lasting friends, great memories, and learn so much just by getting out of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to take up space, especially as a girl in a STEM major!!"

Congratulations, Andi! May God bless you and keep you.

Every year, the ACU Faculty Senate selects fifty outstanding seniors to receive the University Scholars Award. These students are chosen for their leadership on campus, academic excellence, and a genuine commitment to Christian service. It's one of the most meaningful ways we get to celebrate the students who make ACU what it is.

This year, two students from the School of Information and Technology earned the honor. To qualify, students must carry a GPA of 3.5 or higher, have completed at least 90 credit hours, and show a true dedication to learning in their field. These students did exactly that!

Congratulations to DET major Matthew Carlson (not pictured) and computer science major Jenna Keeley. We're so proud of you!

If this were athletics, this is the championship tournament for our DET program! We're excited to announce that, once again, ACU's Digital Entertainment Technology program finished at the top of the Princeton Review 2026 standings.

#1 Christian Game Development Major
#1 in the Southwest (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona)
#29 in the World

Our students showed up. Our faculty delivered. And once again, DET finished at the top of the standings in our region.

ACU's DET program is not standing still. The program continues to evolve alongside the industry, with a growing emphasis on integrating AI into the game development pipeline in thoughtful, practical ways. Our students are learning how to use these tools to strengthen design, storytelling, and production, preparing them for where the field is heading next.

This week our own DET professor, Dr. Brian Burton and ACU alum, Travis Corrigan ('22), were guests on the podcast Abilene People. Burton is the director of our Digital Entertainment Technology program and is a national thought leader in AI, game development, and digital ethics.

Burton and Corrigan keep the conversation easy to follow while unpacking big ideas. Together, they show how AI and digital tech aren’t just futuristic concepts—they’re already part of everyday life.
