Last night, our Pre-Vet club had a branding booth at the festival. There were hats and wood pieces for sale that could be branded, and they also did custom branding on personal items. The Rhoden Field Lab also provided animals for a petting zoo which is always a huge hit!

You can find the Pre-Vet club at the tailgate today with their branding booth, along with a few horses from the ACU Riding Team! Make sure to stop by and see us!

Last Thursday, we hosted our annual back to school cookout at the Rhoden Field Lab! We had such a great turnout this year and enjoyed the fellowship and community.

Students ate dinner, listened to a devotional from farm manager Riley, and participated in a few games. The AES club officers went head to head with one of our professors Caleta in trivia questions about the Rhoden. Whoever answered last got a whipped cream pie to the face. The semester is in full swing, and we are so excited to have everyone back on campus!

Last night, the ACU Riding Team held an interest meeting and had a huge turnout! The riding team is a group of students who are passionate about horses, growing their skills and knowledge, and fostering a sense of community. They practice at the Rhoden twice a week and have opportunities to attend equine events around the Abilene area. Tryouts are held every semester to determine riding members, as the horses used are those owned by the department. Students are also allowed to utilize their personal horse, if they have one, with opportunities to board at the farm.

If you are interested in the riding team or any of the other clubs, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
