Grad Highlight: Ty Naicker | Accounting & Acting

Ty hits the ground running after graduation - he already has a work contract lined up and is actively exploring opportunities in the San Antonio and Abilene areas. When asked about his favorite COBA memory, he doesn't hesitate: talking with Bill Fowler about golf and taxes. Sometimes the most memorable moments are the ones that make a classroom feel like a conversation.

His advice to freshmen is simple, grounding, and deeply personal: "Trust in your faith with God and know in all things: you are seen and loved."

Congratulations, Ty! May God bless you and keep you.

Grad Highlight: Georgia Siegel | Management (Data Analytics), Minors in Music & Computer Science

Georgia is heading to Malibu this fall to attend Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, a next step that feels perfectly suited for someone who has spent four years saying yes to every opportunity in front of her. And there have been many. Her favorite memories from ACU are woven together by a spirit of adventure and curiosity: a study abroad semester in Leipzig, Germany, with Dr. James Prather, where she made lifelong friends and traveled to places like Norway; a trip to a small town in Portugal to compete in an international piano competition with her ACU piano professor, where she learned alongside world-renowned pianists; and closer to home, being part of the Heacock Scholars program and traveling to Denver with COBA to meet with business professionals. Georgia is quick to say that COBA and ACU opened doors she never could have anticipated, and she's deeply grateful for every one of them.

Her advice to freshmen is generous, detailed, and clearly lived out: "Get plugged in! Say yes! You never know what opportunity will come up and what you will love. I have enjoyed being involved in different corners of campus - from music ensembles as a pianist, Computer Science research, to working in the Study Abroad office. College is a time to try everything and see what clicks for you! Get to know your professors. Especially in COBA, the faculty care so deeply for the students and invest in them. My college experience would not be the same without the many faculty who poured into me during my four years at ACU. Go to office hours, stop by, ask questions! Finally, invest in your community. I am so grateful and have been blessed immeasurably by the friends and community at ACU."

Congratulations, Georgia! May God bless you and keep you.

"“Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord." - Jeremiah 1:5-8

Jeremiah told God he was too young and didn't know how to speak. Sound familiar? God's call doesn't wait until you feel ready. It just asks you to say yes.

Grad Highlight: Ella Kate Siewert | Accounting

Ella Kate is closing out her time at ACU with a full passport and an even fuller heart. Right after graduation, she'll be heading back to Montevideo, Uruguay, to serve with La Ruta, a college ministry, for the month of May. Then in June, she'll transition into a sales internship at the Dallas World Trade Center with Road Runners, all while keeping her eyes open for international job opportunities and continuing education.

It's no surprise that her favorite memories center on study abroad - traveling to Uruguay with professors Jennifer Golden and Matt Deeg, and experiencing Dukes Around the World with Jody Jones and Daniel Garcia. Whether in a foreign country or in the classroom, Ella Kate says it has always been clear how deeply her professors care about their students and genuinely want to see them thrive saying, "It is so evident how much our professors care for us and want to see us succeed! I’m so grateful for their mentorship and dedication!"

Her advice to freshmen is simple, sincere, and straight from experience: "Do everything! I know so many people will tell you this, but it is so true! I am so grateful for the memories and experiences I've had just by saying 'yes' to as much as I could!"

Congratulations, Ella Kate! May God bless you and keep you.

Grad Highlight: Sarah Campbell | Accounting & Finance

Sarah isn't quite ready to leave ACU behind - and honestly, who could blame her? She'll be staying in Abilene to pursue her Master's of Accountancy degree beginning Fall 2026. When it comes to her favorite memory, Sarah doesn't hesitate: Sing Song. She participated both her freshman and senior year, and the journey was anything but expected. She showed up to the first practice unsure of what Sing Song even was, and walked away thinking it might not be for her. But the community pulled her back. She kept showing up, gave it her best, and found herself surrounded by encouragement at every turn. What started as uncertainty became one of the most treasured experiences of her college years - a school-wide celebration where everyone, regardless of ability, comes together to make something truly special.

Her advice to freshmen is warm, grounded, and full of hard-won wisdom: "Freshman year is an exciting time full of new adventures and opportunities. College is a time of growth - academically, spiritually, and personally. While college is a place to get a degree, remember to get involved, meet new people, and try new things, because you never know who you might meet or what you might learn about yourself. Even though studying is important, find a balance between school and your social life. This is a time of your life where you are surrounded by fellow followers in Christ, walking alongside you and preparing you for your future career. Embrace the late-night study sessions, Sing Song, formals, and a community where a simple 'hello' can make someone's day."

Congratulations, Sarah! May God bless you and keep you.

Grad Highlight: Abigail Smith | Accounting

Abigail has a full and purposeful road ahead. After graduation, she'll be interning at a Fort Worth law firm specializing in real estate and business law, all while preparing for the LSAT and working through the law school application process. Her time at COBA gave her some remarkable experiences to draw from, including traveling to Costa Rica with professors Mark Phillips and John Homer as part of a consulting class, and representing the STAR program at the Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium Conference in Chicago, an experience she says was both eye-opening and invaluable.

Her advice to freshmen is honest, layered, and worth sitting with: "You will change and grow so much during your time here, and it won't always feel good. Some seasons will be uncomfortable, and that's okay. Learn to sit in it and stay present instead of rushing past it. Say yes to opportunities you wouldn't normally take, even when they feel intimidating. Don't neglect the social side of college either, because the people and relationships you build will matter just as much as what you learn in class. Try not to compare where you are to others, because everyone's path looks different. Trust that you're exactly where you need to be, even when it doesn't feel like it yet, and that it will come together."

Congratulations, Abigail! May God bless you and keep you.

This Memorial Day, we pause in gratitude to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in freedom. May we never take their sacrifice for granted.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14

In a world that constantly tells you to be someone else, Scripture says you were fearfully and wonderfully made - on purpose, with purpose.

Grad Highlight: Trinity Bryan | Marketing

Trinity is stepping into the next chapter with excitement, ready to launch her career in event and wedding planning. When asked about her favorite memory at ACU, she points to Leadership Summit and it's easy to see why. From experiencing God's creation in the mountains with close friends to building personal relationships with professors and hearing from incredible speakers, she describes it as a meaningful time of growth, connection, and perspective. Oh, and she wants you to know - it was also an absolute blast.

Her advice to freshmen is something worth writing down: "Don't be scared to put yourself out there! College goes by so fast, so take advantage of it, make as many connections as you can, get involved, and join different clubs. Grades are important, of course, but it's just as important to prioritize time with friends and fully embrace the college experience."

Congratulations, Trinity! May God bless you and keep you.
