Here at Hardin-Simmons University Nursing, we are utilizing the newest technology to enhance student learning both in the classroom and beyond the hospital setting.

Our nursing students are using the Anatomage Table in their pathophysiology course to visualize disease processes in a way that brings concepts to life. This hands-on, interactive approach helps students better understand the “why” behind patient care—preparing them for real-world clinical decision-making.

Our Hardin-Simmons University Nursing students attended Night to Shine in Abilene this weekend through our partnership with Beltway Park Church.

They helped serve in various roles throughout the evening and were able to be part of a special event celebrating individuals with special needs in our community.

We’re thankful for opportunities like this that allow our students to be involved in Abilene beyond their regular clinical experiences.

What an incredible day for our nursing students as they completed their first round of community clinicals! 💜

Students had the opportunity to serve and learn across our amazing community partners including City Light Ministries, Love and Care Ministries, the Abilene Health Department, the Abilene Fire Department, Hendrick Medical Center, and simulation experiences on campus. In true healthcare teamwork fashion, students even spent their lunch break administering TB testing for Physical Therapy students, highlighting the importance of interprofessional collaboration.

We are so proud of the compassion, professionalism, and dedication our students showed while working hands-on in the community. Days like today truly highlight the heart of nursing — serving others where they are.

A huge thank you to the Abilene Public Library and the amazing Abilene community!

We are so grateful for the opportunity to collaborate for the first time at the Celebrating Differences event at the South Branch Library. It was such a joy to share stories, crafts, and our Teddy Bear Clinic with so many incredible children and families.

HSU Nursing students loved hosting the Nurse Show-N-Tell and helping create a space where all abilities are celebrated. We can’t wait for more events like this in the future!
