Dr. Tom Lee took four students to the Texas Society of Mammalogists meeting in February. Lyndsey Klein won the Vernon Bailey Award for presenting the Best Undergraduate Poster Paper. Kailey McHenry attended and helped with research on the winning poster. Isabella Ortiz de Camargo also presented a poster paper. First year biology major Jannika Alderink also got to attend and learned a lot about scientific meetings. ACU Biology Alumni Dr. Neal Platt and Dr. Joel Brant were also spotted!

We have had so much going on in the Biology Department this week, but this was definitely one of the highlights!! The Biology Research Dinner was a success! We would like to say congratulation to Sarah Hudson and Kseniia Schneider for their outstanding work in research, which earned them the titles of Biology Researchers of the Year! Congrats ladies!

Also, a huge shoutout to the Brokaws for hosting! Thank you for all your hard work and for opening your home to us!

For anyone who wanted to join research, reach out to this account or to one of your professors! There’s always a way to get plugged in!

I wanted to inform you that our meet and greet for the Biology Department will be held in Halbert-Walling tomorrow (Friday, August 22) at 1:00! The Halbert-Walling Research Center is located on the corner between the Onstead Science Center and the Education Building or in front of Nelson!
