Matthew Scholp: Matthew Scholp, BA '00, married Sara Elizabeth (Hoker) Scholp on July 20, 2024. They reside in Miamisburg, OH with their three cats.

Kristi Sell: Kristi Sell, BM '95, received her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Georgia. She is now working at Georgia College and State University as an instructor of oboe.

Jon Denny: Jon Denny, BA '93, was promoted to Vice President and Partner at BEC Search.

Chris Walsh: Chris Walsh, JD '87, has retired after 33 years as an attorney. He is now writing fiction.

Anna Guillozet: Anna (Barrett) Guillozet, BA '08, resides in Worthington, Ohio, with her husband, Garrett Guillozet, BS '08 and their daughter. She serves as senior pastor of Linworth United Methodist Church.

Thank you to our 6th annual Women in Leadership panelists; Stephanie Burke, BA ‘91, JD ‘94, Hon. D. ‘23, Maegan Schnarre, BSBA ‘13, Jessica Howley, BSCE ‘06, Kelli Duprey, BSPh ‘88, and Angela McMurry, BS ‘99 for providing incredible insight. Each of you are helping ONU’s students step confidently into their futures! 🧡

The spirit of leadership was in full bloom on Ohio Northern University on April 16. For the sixth consecutive year, the University welcomed home five distinguished alumnae to share advice on the “Women in Leadership” panel.

Representing ONU’s five colleges, the alumnae shared personal stories about their professional journeys and offered career and leadership advice. ONU President Melissa Baumann, Ph.D., moderated the insightful panel discussion, navigating topics from imposter syndrome, to work/life balance, to career pivots.

At the conclusion, ONU recognized outstanding female student leaders for 2026 who were nominated by their professors, deans, and coaches.

This past weekend marked a historic milestone for Ohio Northern’s Zeta Kappa Chapter of Theta Chi as brothers gathered to celebrate their 60th Anniversary Reunion! 🐻‍❄️

This was highlighted by an event which included dinner and allowing current chapter members to connect with alumni. Thank you to all who attended! 🧡

Polar Bear pride is on display at Korda Engineering! We have a number of Ohio Northern alumni making huge waves. Spanning across numerous fields, these alumni are working together to design a greater future. They are truly making their mark and showing the world what Polar Bear pride looks like in action!

From the Columbus Home Road Water Treatment Plant and the New Albany Fieldhouse to the very design of ONU’s own James Lehr Kennedy Engineering Building, Korda’s portfolio features the work of several impressive Ohio Northern Alumni. This group includes Marie Ruth (Partner), BSME ‘05, Cullen Zelachowski (Senior Associate), BSCE ‘13, Keefer McClure (Electrical Engineer), BSEE ‘25, and Heath Jeffries (Electrical Engineer), BSEE ‘23. The list also includes Justin Schultz (Partner), BSEE ‘03, and Alex Klaiss (Senior Associate), BSME ‘12, who both assisted in designing ONU’s Engineering Building.

Alex shares an interesting personal connection to the ONU Engineering Building project: “I actually ‘sponsored' the second floor mechanical room – if you look at the room number sign next to the mechanical room door, that’s my name below it!”

For aspiring engineers, Korda offers a familiar environment to that of ONU. “Korda has a family atmosphere while maintaining a great reputation for diverse, challenging projects,” says Justin Schultz. It is easy to see why so many ONU alumni choose to build their careers at Korda.

These alumni are the definition of Polar Bear excellence. From the design of our own engineering building to the impact across numerous communities, they are an example of what true Polar Bear pride is all about! 🐻‍❄️
