Earlier this year, Starship exited the higher‑education market and removed its robots and equipment from universities nationwide, including The University of Akron.

We are now working closely with the University to explore the next generation of robotic food delivery for campus. Our goal is to restore the convenience, innovation, and excitement that robotic delivery brought to students, faculty, and staff—while ensuring a reliable and sustainable solution for the future.

Although the launch timeline is still being finalized, planning is underway and we remain optimistic about bringing the service back.

We appreciate your enthusiasm and patience during this transition. Additional details, including launch timing and service features, will be shared through official University communications as they become available.

Dining Services’ hours of operation will be adjusted in observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 7.

Rob’s Café will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7.
All dining locations in the Jean Hower Taber Student Union will be closed on Monday, September 7 and will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, September 8.
