Six students are spending their summer in Japan, conducting NSF-funded research alongside world-class faculty and students at leading universities.

Over the next few weeks, they’ll explore sustainable composite materials, recycling technologies, machine learning and advanced manufacturing — research that could help shape the future of aerospace, energy and other high-impact industries.

Along the way, they’ll gain hands-on experience, build international connections and see firsthand how engineering solves global challenges.
