James is a freshman in the Electronics Technology program at NMSU Alamogordo with a 3.52 GPA, recognized for his outstanding academic performance, dedication, and strong work ethic. Make the library part of your summer! 🎨✨

Join us for Library Arts & Crafts at the NMSU Alamogordo Townsend Library—free weekly projects for the entire community. From June 10–July 29, come create with us every Wednesday at 1:00 PM.

Expect fun hands-on activities like air dry clay, charm bracelets (Pride event), suncatchers, mason jar painting, moss mirrors, terrariums, phone charms/keychains, and notebook & binder decorating—and more!

A milestone moment for NMSU-A! 🩺✨

On Friday, May 15, we celebrated NMSU-A’s 1st Nursing Pinning Ceremony at the CHRISTUS Conference Center, honoring the first graduating cohort of our new Nursing Program.

From the candle lighting and Nightingale tradition to the proud pinning moment, the afternoon was filled with purpose, gratitude, and the kind of joy that comes from hard work paying off.

To our graduates: you are stepping into a calling — and our community is better because of you. Congratulations, nurses! 🎓

In memory of many, in honor of all — thank you. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, NMSU-A pauses to remember the service members who gave their lives for our country, and we extend our gratitude to all who have served and to the families who carry their legacy forward.

Campus Closure: NMSU-A will be closed all day Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.
We’ll reopen during normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26.

On Friday, May 15, NMSU-A celebrated 147 graduates at our 2026 Commencement Ceremony at the Tays Center. From first-generation college students and adult learners to dual credit students, veterans, Phi Theta Kappa members, and more—this class represents determination, resilience, and big dreams in motion.

A special thank you to our commencement speaker, Dr. Stephanie J. Hernandez (NMSU-A alumna, Class of 1999, and Alamogordo City Manager), for inspiring our grads with a message of leadership, service, and community impact.
