Now, the world is watching as he snags more than 1.3 million dollars in scholarship offers and picks North Carolina A&T to chase his passion for mechanical engineering.

Let that sink in. This is not just about grades or scholarships. Rawlin’s bold hustle is serving up major inspiration and rewriting what is possible for students everywhere. Every parent, teacher, and classmate cannot believe his grind – and neither can the internet. Fans cannot get enough of his hard work and unstoppable goals. Diversity and determination just hit a new high at this school.

Could this be the start of a whole new chapter for young Black scholars in Georgia? Eyes are glued to Rawlin Lee Tate Jr. as he walks a path no student has ever dared enter before. Watch out, because this story is going viral!

In recognition of National Interns Day, the Albany State University Criminal Justice Department proudly highlights two outstanding students who demonstrated excellence beyond the classroom this summer.

Senior Jazmin Kynes and Junior Jarod Lewis both served as interns with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The GBI is a statewide investigative agency that provides assistance to Georgia’s criminal justice system in the areas of criminal investigations, forensic laboratory services, and computerized criminal justice information. Its mission is to protect the citizens of Georgia by delivering high-quality investigative, scientific, and information services in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies.

Through their internships, Jazmin and Jarod had the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in criminal investigations and learn directly from seasoned professionals in the field. We commend them for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service.
