is open to graduate students and students enrolled in BA/MA tracts possessing an interest in issues related to gender, sexuality, feminisms, intersectionality and other topics broadly defined under the umbrella of Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. All graduate students enrolled in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies department are deemed “members” despite their particular activity level

We agree to abide by University at Albany policy prohibiting the discrimination in organizational membership on the basis of race, color, culture, creed, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, age or veteran status. is based on a federal system of government. It shall consist of the traditional forms of government, which are President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Additionally, the group shall have an Assembly Representative and an Alternate Representative. These positions will constitute the groups Executive Board or E-Board. The Executive Board is responsible to the Graduate Student Organization. The duties of each officer are defined below:
President: The President presides over all meetings, sets agendas for meetings, and serves as the organization’s official representative,
Vice-President: The Vice President assumes the duties of the president in their absence, provides assistance to any other officer, and may lead meetings when necessary. Treasurer: The Treasurer be responsible for recording/monitoring all organization funds, present a financial report at each meeting, work with the GSO coordinator in all book-keeping issues. Assembly Representative/Alternate: The Assembly Representative or the Assembly Representative Alternate will attend monthly meetings of the GSO and be responsible for reporting back to the group. All positions will be filled voluntarily by MA students. In the case of two individuals vying for the same position, a vote will be held which will poll all members. The formation of committees will be voted on by group membership. Committee heads will be voluntarily chosen. The constitution will become effective upon the approval of the Graduate Student Organization and the RGSO committee.
