Are you interested in learning more about the connections between food, agriculture, and health? If so, consider registering for the

Transformative Ecologies: Food, Farming, and People's Health certificate program. Sponsored by College of Population Health & Sustainability Studies Program

This five-course certificate explores food, agriculture, and health both theoretically and through hands-on activities. Throughout the certificate, you will experience:

Building your skills in growing food and engaging with the community through food
Studying how to transform current unsustainable systems affected by climate change, environmental injustice, food waste, water pollution, and more
Examining why we eat what we eat and how it shapes society and our experience of it
Deepening your understanding of how the ways in which we grow food link our health to our environment, and how better food systems can result in better health
Visiting area farms and food production systems to learn more about their interactions with health and the environment

Designed for undergraduates and non-degree-seeking students interested in food, agriculture, and health, this course provides a strong foundation for developing thoughtful, culturally responsive, and effective food systems.

Scholarships for the program are available. Up to $4,000 for qualified students.

Please reach out to Prof. Laura Nervi for scholarship information.
