With a mission focused on empowering the student veterans of UNM, Student Veterans of America at UNM (SVAUNM) is committed to providing an educational experience that goes beyond the classroom. We participate in a dedicated network of more than 1,500 on-campus chapters in all 50 states and 4 countries representing more than 750,000 student veterans through the Student Veterans of America Organizat

ion. We aim to inspire yesterday’s warriors by connecting student veterans at UNM with a like-minded community. Every day we work with UNM Leadership and our Veteran and Military Resource Center (VMRC) to provide the necessary resources, network support, and advocacy to ensure student veterans can effectively connect, expand their skills, and ultimately achieve their greatest potential. We participate in get-togethers, community service, veteran advocacy on and off campus, and attend a yearly SVA National Convention. We also maintain our own building on campus with a computer cafe, free printing, a kitchen, lockers, a children and families room, pool table and foozeball room, tutoring and conference rooms, and areas for private study.
