UNM Cultural Studies / Comparative Literature Graduate Conference The UNM Cultural Studies / Comparative Literature Graduate Conference occurs annually and is hosted by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures.

The annual Comparative Literature/ Cultural Studies (CL/CS) Graduate Student Conference is hosted by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the Uni of New Mexico. The goal of the CLCS conference is to provide graduate students the opportunity to grow professionally by engaging in a wider academic discussion of a specific topic of inquiry. The conference is open to the public and se

rves the university graduate and undergraduate students, faculty and staff, and the greater community. In the past, the conference organizers have been successful at engaging not just national, but also international participation in the conference. In addition, they have been able to secure the participation of internationally-known scholars in the fields of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature as keynote speakers. The conference includes a graduate seminar style closing session with the keynote speaker in order to fully delve into the topic and take advantage of the keynote speaker’s expertise. This special session is open to all conference participants, audience and community members. This year’s conference is titled “Home (Alone): An Interrogation of the Familiar, Transitory Space, and the Contours of the Self” and will be held in early April, 2016, on UNM’s main campus.
