HAPPY PRIDE!!

As sunlight passes through stained glass, it creates something beautiful: a spectrum of colors that is brighter, stronger, and more vibrant together than any single color alone.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ members of our community whose experiences, perspectives, and contributions help make our college a place where people can learn, grow, and thrive.

Like the rainbows that fill our student spaces each afternoon, Pride reminds us that every person brings something meaningful to the communities they serve. When we listen, learn from one another, and support each other's success, we create a stronger future for all.

At the UNM College of Education and Human Sciences, we are proud to foster learning, opportunity, and a sense of belonging for every member of our community.
Together, we're keeping New Mexico moving, growing, and learning.

CELEBRATING WORLD NUTRITION DAY

Good nutrition supports more than physical health. It helps students learn, families thrive, communities grow stronger, and individuals live healthier, more connected lives.
This World Nutrition Day, the University of New Mexico College of Education and Human Sciences celebrates the power of nutrition education and the students, faculty, researchers, and professionals working to improve health outcomes across New Mexico and beyond.

Through our Nutrition and Dietetics programs, COEHS students are preparing to make a meaningful impact in schools, clinics, community organizations, research settings, and public health spaces. Their work reflects our mission to support healthier communities through knowledge, care, and evidence based practice.

Because when people have access to education, resources, and support, communities move, grow, and thrive together.

REFLECTIONS ON MEMORIAL DAY

This Memorial Day, the University of New Mexico College of Education and Human Sciences honors and remembers the service members who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that the freedoms we enjoy today are built on courage, commitment, and a deep sense of responsibility to others.

As educators, researchers, counselors, health professionals, and advocates, we recognize the importance of service in all its forms. Today, we pause in gratitude for those who served with extraordinary sacrifice and for the families who continue to carry their memory forward.
Wishing our COEHS community a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day weekend.

FINALS WEEK IS HERE!
To all of our COEHS students: take a deep breath and remember how far you’ve already come this semester. Every late night, early morning, discussion, project, practicum, and moment of perseverance brought you here.
Finals week can feel overwhelming, but you are capable, resilient, and more prepared than you think.
Be sure to take care of yourself along the way:
1. Get some rest
2. Stay hydrated
3. Give yourself grace
4. Ask for support when you need it
We are proud of the work you’re doing and the future you’re helping shape for New Mexico and beyond.
Finish strong, Lobos. You’ve got this.

Behind every student success story, there’s someone who helped light the way.

Our COEHS advisors do more than guide course schedules — they listen, encourage, problem-solve, and show up for our students when it matters most.

On Thank an Advisor Day (May 7), we’re celebrating the people who make this work possible.

Tag an advisor, share a memory, or drop a note of thanks in the comments to let them know the difference they’ve made. 💛
