The University of New Mexico Black Law Student Association (BLSA) hopes that you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented pandemic involving COVID-19.

We are saddened by the fact that we weren't able to have our spring soul food cookout and our 3-on-3 basketball tournament/End of Year BBQ this year. However, we know that it is important to keep our communities safe and we hope to be able to offer those events next year!

Last Saturday, BLSA held a practice LSAT and panel discussion with UNMSOL students, Professor Sonia Gipson Rankin and Dean Alfred Mathewson! It was a wonderful event with food sponsored by the New Mexico Black Lawyer’s Association!!! We are so grateful for all who helped with this event!

BLSA held two great events this past week. We had a movie night with the movie Glory and discussion with Professor Kastenberg. Then later in the week we had a discussion about the movie Just Mercy with Professors Ahranjani, Creel , and Gipson Rankin. Great week with UNMSOL students and faculty!!!

BLSA members will be proctoring a practice LSAT on 2/22/20. This exam is open to anyone interested in taking the exam, however, registration is required. Please see flyer for more information and pass it on to anyone you know that may be interested!

BLSA tabling in the forum all this week with great information regarding Black History Month!!! Next week we’re having two more great events....Tuesday night we’ll be watching Glory and Thursday afternoon we’ll be discussing Just Mercy!
