SAFETY ALERT FROM YOUR LSUA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Heavy rain can quickly create dangerous high water conditions on roadways. Please use extreme caution.

* Never drive through flooded roads - Turn Around, Don’t Drown
* Even shallow moving water can sweep a vehicle away or cause serious damage
* Water depth is often deeper than it appears
* Avoid driving during heavy rain unless absolutely necessary

If roads are still passable:

* Reduce speed significantly and drive well below posted limits
* Increase following distance to allow extra stopping time
* Use headlights to improve visibility for you and others
* Avoid sudden braking or sharp turns on wet pavement
* Do not attempt to pass through standing or moving water - find an alternate route
* Watch for hidden hazards like potholes, debris, and washed out areas

Report blocked or hazardous roadways to local authorities.

Your Safety is Our #1 Priority
When in doubt, choose another route or wait it out!

If you have not yet completed the PSE or if you're unfamiliar with the testing process, you may register and test in advance.

A valid, passing test score on file helps applicants meet required standards when positions become available. Completion of the PSE alone does not guarantee employment.
