Meet Maddie Labeef, a 4.0 student and 2026 graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School, who concluded her 4th year of wrestling this season. Maddie will be studying Forensic Science at Alfred State, which she chose for her next step because it is close to home and a good living & learning environment. While she is looking forward to making new memories while at college, she reflected that her favorite wrestling memory thus far has been creating a family within the Fulton wrestling team and celebrating her team placing 4th in the state twice during her high school career. Maddie is a successful wrestler and comes to the program from an incredible wrestling dynasty. She will be a great addition to our room.

Meet Jazalin Perez! Jazalin is a 2026 HS grad, incoming first year wrestler, and 4.0 student from New Design High School. She plans to study Business Administration and chose Alfred State because she felt a sense of community and authentic support on our campus.

Jazalin has been wrestling for 4 years. Her two biggest wrestling accomplishments so far was earning the New York City Champion title and placing 5th at States. She would like to thank everyone who continues to believe in her and cheer her on, especially her coaches.

During her time at Alfred State, Jazalin is most looking forward to learning new things and making strong connections.

Meet Maila Daniels, a 2026 Konawaena High School grad from Kealakekua, on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Maila, a 4.0 student, has been wrestling for 4 years. She chose Alfred State because we offer both wrestling and the opportunity to major in Nursing and specialize in Radiology, while located near her oldest sister. Maila believes her biggest HS wrestling accomplishment was being entrusted by her teammates and coaches to lead her girls team as captain for three years. She comes to Alfred as a 3x state qualifier, a 6th placer at the Pa’ani Challenge, and with all the marks indicating an incredible high school career. Now, she looks forward to fully recovering, getting back on the mat, and taking her wrestling to the collegiate level! When asked who she would like to thank, Maila said, “my coaches, family, friends, and teammates for supporting me through this journey!”

Girls!!!!! We are so incredibly excited to FINALLY announce the Pioneer Women’s Wrestling Club, an adjacent entity to Alfred State Women’s Wrestling. It has taken months/years to make this dream a reality, and while we are starting very small, the hope is to grow this club into an invaluable resource for women wrestlers in WNY and the Southern Tier. This is just a baby step toward such a bright future ahead 🤼‍♀️💙💛

Please welcome Naomi Arroyo to our program! Naomi is a 2026 Lakeland High School graduate from Indiana. She chose Alfred State because of her desire to go out-of-state and meet new people, and she appreciates the added bonus of ASC’s beautiful location. Her biggest accomplishment in wrestling is placing 5th this year in the Indiana State Tournament, with an incredible 33-2 season record (while sporting a 3.8 unweighted GPA!), and is proud to have the opportunity to continue wrestling at the collegiate level. She is looking forward to seeing her improvement in the sport and acquiring her degree in Construction Management during her time here.

Naomi would like to thank everyone from her school for their support the past 3 years. She wants to thank her coaches, her amazing team, and, of course, her biggest supporters: her parents.

Naomi, we can’t wait to welcome you into our wrestling room 💙💛

Please welcome Ely Meneses to our program! Ely is a 2026 Highland high school graduate who has been wrestling for 4 years. She plans to study Animal and Plant Agricultural Science, and chose Alfred State because of its great hands-on learning experiences. Ely is looking forward to working with animals during college, and dreams to coach after pursuing her education.

She would like to thank her family, friends, and coaches who have supported her along the way. Ely comes to college carrying the legacy of founding the Highland women’s wrestling team, through advocating to the school board that women deserve their own team. While she knew she wouldn’t have the opportunity to enjoy the benefit of her efforts—Highland offering a women’s team begins next school year—she will forever be a pioneer of women’s wrestling. Ely, thank you for your contribution to the growth of our sport. Young women like you have an irreplaceable impact we are so grateful for!

Please welcome Angelina Krusko to Alfred State! Arriving to ASC with an incredible 4.0 high school gpa, Angelina will be majoring in Veterinary Technology for an associates and would like to further her education afterward to pursue bovine breeding. She chose Alfred State because of the veterinary facilities, rural area, and proximity to her family.

Angelina began her wrestling career looking to become more disciplined and challenge herself. When asked who she would like to thank, she said her coaches, Coach King and Coach Weller, for always being in her corner, helping her achieve new athletic excellence that she hadn’t seen in other sports, and for encouraging her to be more well rounded. During Angelina’s time in college, she is most looking forward to meeting like minded people with similar interests and As reaching a new level in her athletic career.

We are looking forward to adding Angelina to our room next year! 💛💙

Meet Mya Wyant, a Marathon HS senior, and a 2026 women’s wrestling commit. Mya plans to study nursing while at Alfred State, with hopes to work in pediatrics or the NICU someday. She is an incredible student, and will be a great addition to our program because she isn’t afraid to challenge herself. Mya would like to thank her wrestling coach for pushing her to apply to Alfred and gain this opportunity.
