Meet Matthew Frano M’26 🌟
Matt graduated this May with his bachelor’s in accounting, an MBA and a certificate in business analytics. 🎓 He will soon be working full-time as a Tax Associate with CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), an accounting firm in downtown Pittsburgh. 👏
“Returning to school in 2021 because of my disability was one of the biggest leaps I’ve taken. The journey was challenging but incredibly rewarding.”
Matt says he loved the sense of community at Bobby Mo, the professors who genuinely cared, and the classmates who didn’t mind that he was twice their age.
“Being in that environment reminded me every day why I chose to start over and chase a new career.”
During his time at Robert Morris, he worked multiple internships to prepare him for a career in accounting, including as Federal Tax Services Intern for RSM and a Tax Intern for Herbein + Company. He was also a member of and and volunteered as a tax assistant with the RMU VITA program, providing free tax prep for lower income families.
Matt worked at Costco for 15 years from 2007-2021 He returned to school at CCAC where he earned his associate’s degree before ultimately ending up at RMU.
“When my dad sent me the photo of my name on the commencement screen while I was waiting to enter the arena, it hit me in a way I didn’t expect. Knowing he was proud to see our name up there with “MBA” after it was something I’ll carry with me forever. Seeing it for myself felt like every late night and every setback finally came full circle.”
In his new role, he will have access to the Becker CPA Exam Review Premium Suite and will begin studying to become a CPA.
