🎬 Pittsburgh will be at the center of the animation world this June!
The Society for Animation Studies, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Expanded Animation Alliance (PA-XAA), will host the 37th Annual SAS Conference, The Animate Experience, June 15–18. Bringing together more than 100 scholars, artists, and industry professionals from around the globe, the conference explores animation as a powerful tool for storytelling, social-emotional learning, community engagement, and creative expression.
We’re especially proud that faculty and students from Robert Morris University’s English and Media Arts Department will be contributing alongside presenters from leading institutions across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
The four-day event features keynote speakers, screenings, workshops, and public programs at venues throughout Pittsburgh, including the Children’s Museum MuseumLab, Harris Theater, Point Park University, the University of Pittsburgh, and WQED’s iconic Fred Rogers Studio.
Don’t miss the free public Animate Experience Exhibition at MuseumLab, showcasing expanded animation works from international artists and Pennsylvania students throughout the summer.
Registration is open, and day passes are available now at animate-experience.com.
The Animate Experience conference in Pittsburgh will bring together an international coalition to explore animation as a tool for society.
