From the team: “Our team is honored to have won the IIA/ACFE Student Case Competition. Representing Robert Morris University and the Department of Accounting and Taxation was a valuable experience that allowed us to apply our coursework to real-world ethical and auditing challenges. Using a real-life nonprofit case from Pittsburgh strengthened our analysis by showing how corporate culture can influence the likelihood of fraud, particularly when transparency is limited and internal audit is marginalized. This perspective helped us highlight the essential role internal audit plays in promoting ethical behavior, strengthening controls, and shaping a culture that prevents misconduct. We are grateful to our professor and classmates for their guidance and support.”
Thank you to the other students who participated in the competition as well!
