41 Years of being Thankful for Smoke Detectors

“Opportunity out of Defeat”: 41 Years ago today, March 6, 1985,

46 Alma College TKE Actives lost the original TKE House at 313 Philadelphia due to an electrical fire. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt

Just as the phrase “Opportunity out of Defeat” was the calling card for the Tau Kappa Epsilon in 1899 the Alma College TKE rallied the chapter and with help from Brothers and Alumni for decades for years to come, raised the capital to rebuild a new TKE House that we continue to benefit from today. The men of Tau Kappa Epsilon have continued to prevail when there is adversity.

Congratulations to the Alma College Football team on winning the MIAA

This Teke of the week post is dedicated to all of our Fraters who had a part in securing Alma’s position as the Champions of the MIAA. Many of our brothers showed determination and grit on the field Saturday and helped to secure this tremendous victory

The Alma Tekes look forward to watching our Football team compete for a National Championship this year 🔻

🔻 Cuts for Cancer Update 🔻

We have four brothers up for new haircuts so far!

With $1,105 raised in our first week we are moving up the thermometer towards our goal day by day.

The fundraiser runs through the end of November, meaning that there is plenty of time to get some more guys much needed haircuts for a good cause

Today we would like to celebrate Veteran's day by honoring all those who have served and still do serve our country.
It is thanks to their sacrifice that we are able to enjoy our normal lives. We would first like to honor our fallen Frater, Chris O'Connor. Chris was a football player here at Alma, and was a brother of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
He graduated from Alma in 1985, and then continued on to serve in the military. Sadly, he was killed in a military exercise in 1989. In honor of him, every time the Scots score, one of his brothers of TKE rings the “Chris O'Connor Victory Bell” in celebration.

We would also like to Honor Frater Robert Nichol, pictured Bottom Left. Frater Nichol was awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry in action on July 7, 1970

Frater Trevor Underhill, pictured bottom right is actively serving as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard

So once again, thank you to all Veterans who have spent their lives protecting and serving our country!

Congratulations to Eddie Williams for being selected as Teke of the Week.

Eddie delivered an outstanding performance against Kalamazoo College this weekend, recording four rushing touchdowns (3 yd, 1 yd, 12 yd, 7 yd) and becoming Alma College’s all-time scoring leader with over 300 career points, the first Scot in program history to hit this milestone.
His dedication, leadership, and excellence continue to make our chapter Proud 🔻

Congratulations to Jake Nyman for being selected as Teke of the Week.

Even as a New Member, Jake has gone above and beyond in his contributions to the chapter. This past weekend, he did a fantastic job working security at a social gathering, and he continues to volunteer his time and work diligently in all he does. We’re proud to recognize Jake for his dedication and leadership early in his TKE journey

This past Sunday, our chapter had the privilege of hosting the Great Lakes Province Forum, bringing together chapters from across the state for meaningful discussions on programs, leadership, and development.

We were honored to welcome Alma College President Dr. Odenwald, who shared his insightful presentation, “Musings on a Greek Occasion,” focusing on the 4 Cs.

To conclude an incredible weekend, our chapter proudly celebrated Founders’ Day and was recognized with our second consecutive Top TKE Award!

Congratulations to Josh Kase for being selected as Teke of the Week.
Josh was selected for his success in his role as volunteer chair. Josh has provided the chapter with fantastic events that help to grow our members and give back to the community. This past weekend Josh set up and event with the Sisters of Mercy to help them with Fall Cleanup.
