Gamma Phi Beta: Epsilon Beta Chapter Love, Labor, Learning and Loyalty

The Epsilon Beta chapter of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority was founded on Alma College's campus in 1984. Members of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority are proud of our rich and accomplished history, dating back to our founding on November 11, 1874, at Syracuse University in New York. In a society where women were discouraged from attending college because of their "insufficient brainpower" and "delicate health," fo

ur friends came together to form a women's society. They bonded together to face adversity and to encourage one another's intellectual growth. Now, more than 135 years later, we celebrate the vision and dedication of those women -- and all who have come since then -- who have built Gamma Phi Beta Sorority into one of the largest and most well-respected sororities in the world. As a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, you get to be you – and become the best you possible! Our lifetime leadership and educational opportunities equip strong, intelligent women with the tools they need to achieve their greatest potential at any stage in life. In Gamma Phi Beta you develop meaningful, lasting friendships with other women who offer encouragement and inspiration and will always be by your side. In fact, the term "sorority" – meaning sisterhood – was coined for Gamma Phi Beta, and while many other women's fraternal organizations are incorporated as "fraternities," Gamma Phi Beta remains a true Sorority. Connect with more than 175,000 unique women today and discover why our Sorority is a true lifetime experience.

Senior Spotlight πŸŽ“πŸ’—

β€’ Hannah joined Gamma Phi in fall 2022. She’s from Oxford, Michigan and is majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in English Language Arts. She will be student teaching next fall.

Her favorite Gamma Phi memory is living in the house for three years and making so many lasting memories with her sisters. Hannah says that time brought her even closer to the people who made her college experience so special. Her advice to new members is to have fun, say yes to things that push you out of your comfort zone (as long as it’s safe), and truly enjoy every moment you have with your sisters.

β€’ Karri joined Gamma Phi after admiring the way the sisters radiated passion for their chapter, mission, philanthropy, and sisterhood. She’s from McBain, Michigan and is graduating from the nursing program. After graduation, she has accepted a position as an ICU nurse in Northern Michigan.

Her favorite Gamma Phi memory is taking her little, Sophie, and watching her family line grow. Karri says these moments made her experience even more meaningful and special. Her advice to new members is to cherish every moment with your sisters. Say yes, put yourself out there, and embrace every opportunity because the memories you make will be irreplaceable.

Her favorite thing about Gamma Phi is how strong, motivated, and inspiring her sisters are. Karol says being surrounded by such driven women and watching them accomplish amazing things has empowered her in her everyday life. Her advice to new members is to be as involved as possibleβ€”if you have the opportunity to do something, always say yes, because only good things can come from it.
