Students from Penn State Altoona’s Integrated Social Science Research Lab (ISSRL) recently provided support at two Keystone Model of Crisis Management (KMCM) workshops.

Developed jointly by Penn State Health, the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, and the Penn State College of Medicine, these workshops equip law enforcement cadets and first responders with skills to safely de-escalate behavioral health emergencies.

ISSRL members assisted through conducting registration and logistical support. They also collected data to analyze for a scholarly assessment of the model.
