Miss Daisy won big at the Centennial DIstrict Competition, bringing home both an event win AND the District Impact Award! 🏆🥇

It was our first year attending this competition, and it was also our first competition EVER with no losses - we ended the qualification matches as the 1st seed with a 12-0-0 record! We also tied the FMA highscore of 416 points. To end off our weekend, we also won… the IMPACT AWARD! This is a very big accomplishment for our team, since we only recently started to compete for the Impact Award again after winning it at the World Championship in 2010. Next stop: FIRST Mid-Atlantic District Championship!

Miss Daisy won the Hatboro-Horsham District Competition on March 7-8! 🏆

Miss Daisy took home the first place trophy at the Hatboro-Horsham District Competition! Although we had some mishaps with our radio at the beginning of the competition, we were able to come back from it and set many new competition high scores! Our highest score during the entire competition was 389 points! During one of our finals matches, the robots of our two alliance partners unfortunately stopped working, so we had to play against 3 robots by ourselves. Even with these struggles, we still ended up winning the match and taking home the trophy!

But, not only did we win the event, we also won the Engineering Inspiration award! We have not won this since 2018, so it was a big accomplishment for us, and we want to thank everyone on our team for being a part of this journey!

Miss Daisy went to Lower Gwynedd Elementary School’s Science Night to give everyone the experience of Sparky’s Robot World! ⚡

Kids got the chance to drive the Sparky’s robots and play with the demonstration boards, while also learning about STEM! The Sparky’s teach them about the different elements in STEM that come together to create a fully functioning robot. The demo boards show how gears, electrical, and pneumatic components all work together. This experience is fun for everyone, and it gives kids the opportunity to experience and get involved in STEM at a young age. We had 90 kids in total drive the robots and we interacted with over 450 people during the event!

Miss Daisy is officially through over half of the build season! 🎉

This week, our team has been working nonstop on finishing our Beta Bot! We were testing all of the systems to improve them for the Comp Bot. All of our subteams are getting the chance to work together to build a powerful robot, while our PR team is working behind the scenes on the Impact Award! Competition season is getting closer than ever…!

On this Giving Tuesday, we are raising money to purchase a new trailer for our team operations.

Our 20-year-old team trailer has been to over 150 events, carrying our robot, pit equipment, spare parts, and tools across the region and beyond. Competitions today require more equipment than ever, and our current trailer regularly exceeds its weight capacity, limiting what we can bring.

We’re raising $10,000 for a 12-14’ dual-axle trailer with 4,000-5,000 lb capacity.

Every donation, no matter how large or small, helps expand opportunities for students to learn, compete, and engage the community.

If you're feeling extra generous in supporting our team, please consider donating below.
