Aquaponics is the cultivation of fish and plants together in a constructed, recirculating ecosystem utilizing natural bacterial cycles to convert fish waste to plant nutrients. Thank you to everyone who supported, toured and learned in the aquaponics lab this past 10 years. The building with the lab was damaged due to the recent tornado. Our fish have been safely transferred to Evergreen farms in Harleysville Pennsylvania. Please support Temple University Ambler as it rebuilds.

Jake, a prospective Temple Owl/volunteer and aspiring marine biologist, is connecting sensors to make sure our fish are getting enough dissolved oxygen. pH, water level, and ammonia sensors will also be installed over the summer to automate monitoring our systems.
