Congratulations to GSW's 2025-26 Professor of the Year, Dr. Robert Bennett, Professor of Management in the College of Business & Computing. Dr. Bennett was recognized at the Faculty and Staff Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 30 with GSW Alumni Association Vice Chair Royce Hackett making the announcement. The GSW Alumni Association has sponsored this award since its founding in 1980.

The recipient of this annual award is nominated by graduates from the preceding year and presented annually by the GSW Alumni Association on behalf of its newest alumni. The winner of this prestigious honor receives a plaque, along with a $1000 stipend.

The RESERVATION LINK (https://www.gsw.edu/alumni/travel) for Croatia is set to open on MAY 5TH AT 9 AM so set an alarm and get ready as these will be on a first come, first served basis. Deposit of $898 per person and insurance of $769 is required at time of reservation; however, final payment will not be due until 2/15/2028. These are refundable up until May 15, 2027.

NOTE: There are just 18 rooms available on the ship and the entire cruise is limited to just 36 passengers. Because of limited space and demand, we are unable to accept single reservations. After ship is filled, we will keep an active waitlist which will be accessed in the order reservations are received.

For planning purposes, the per person prices are as follows:
1 VIP Cabin on Sundeck with panoramic views ($9,799)
2 Upper deck cabins with windows (9,199)
7 Main deck cabins with windows ($8,599)
8 Lower deck cabins with porthole windows ($7,999)

Congratulations to senior accounting major AND four-year recipient of the Alumni Legacy Scholarship Madeline "Maddie" Taylor who received the Academic Scholar Award for the University System of Georgia at last night's award ceremony. She has been an amazing asset to Georgia Southwestern State University and we are so proud to call her ours. She will graduate on May 7th (officially becoming an alumna of GSW) and will pursue a masters in accounting from the University of Georgia.
