The National Council on Teacher Quality has given the GSW College of Education an A+ ranking for how well they prepare future teachers to teach reading to elementary students!

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia has named Dr. Kerry J. Palmer as the next president of Georgia Southwestern State University, effective August 1, 2026.

A proven higher education leader with nearly 30 years of experience, Dr. Palmer currently serves as Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost at Troy University. Throughout his career, he has championed academic innovation, student success, workforce development, and strategic growth.
