Alumni! The Gamma Lambda chapter is once again participating in Greek Week & would love if you all could help us out to win! During Greek Week, we get paired with a sorority & smaller fraternity to compete in a variety of events that exemplify the core values of the sorority & fraternity community. One of those values is community service and our biggest way of giving back is doing the polar bear plunge. The Polar Plunge is an event where all teams compete against one another to raise the most amount of money towards Special Olympics Iowa. If you are financially able, please click on the link below and donate as you please. If you cannot, absolutely no worries but help us by sending this link to everyone you know. Friends, family, coworkers, etc. This is considered a tax write off, your email shows proof of that when doing taxes AND there is a company match option if your job decides to partake.
So far this week we have already placed in events and have done amazing work. We kicked off Sunday by placing 2nd in a Greek race where members answered Iowa state trivia questions and ran a mile at the same. We then had a day of service where we chopped lumber for a local farm. A few hours later some of our members participated in unified fest where they got to play sports with the special Olympic athletes and just overall have a fun day with those we’re raising money for! We ended the night by placing 3rd place in treds (a combination of football/ultimate frisbee)! This team is in 1st in polar plunge donations at $27,00 but are barely hanging on. We raised $44,000 last year (2nd place) and would like to surpass that and get 1st. A-B

Our small pairing, phi kappa theta, alumni have raised $2600 already. Even though we’re on the same team, we’d like to get our alumni to raise more than them since we’re the big house. (This is the trophy we get if we get the most amount of donations from our alumni)
